Roll Call: Massachusetts

I don’t think they discount with existing GHIN.

I reached out through the website, and they responded within minutes. There is no discount since they need to pay the USGA/MGA to associate one’s GHIN number with their club in order to efficiently run the events. So, I’ll have one GHIN number with two club associations.

This is reasonable since the USGA has league and tournament software that the MGA provides at no cost to member clubs. It’s all tied to the GHIN system, which makes it incredibly simple for the club organizers to handle everything from online registration to tee times to scoresheets. I’ve been trying to get my home course to use the system for our weekday league.

For any South Shore folks, Pinehills has a new indoor facility called Champions that looks pretty nice. I haven’t been yet, but I’m sure I’ll spend some time there this winter. I like the barn setup at Southers Marsh better, since you’re hitting out onto the range rather than into a screen, but this could be a good option when it’s really cold/shitty out.

Went through a bit of a swing change towards the end of the year, looking to setup a full fitting in a month or two as we get closer to the season. Currently looking at Cool Clubs in Natick and Kustom clubs in Manchester, NH after some older recommendations above. Any other shops I should consider or newer thoughts/reviews on those two?

Cool Clubs in Natick is good since you can hit outdoors. Indoors we’ve had good experiences at TrueSpec in Waltham personally.

Bit of a ride but well worth the trip.

I would agree - you would be hard pressed to find a better fitter / builder in all of New England.

Hey all, new here living in Boston looking to learn more about NLU or Roost events in New England area for this year. I tried going to the events page on NLU website, but it appears there is something wrong with the golf genius page. Thanks!

Welcome.

@TheMassHacker is our Roost captain and is finalizing this year’s event schedule. He can get you set up to get all of that info. Expect the first tournament in April!

I have had Lunch and the Bissel Bros, I will have to try the other two you guys mentioned.

Take a weekend trip to Portland. Tons of breweries and great food scene. I like the ones that people here mentioned but would also throw in Oxbow and Austin Street and then Allagash is pretty much a staple.

Allagash has an awesome new tour/tasting experience in “The Cellars” of the brewery (was the original brewing location).

You get tastings of White + 4 exclusive beers they brew in barrels in their cellar. Guided tasting and a mini tour of the barrel area. Was a very cool experience.

If we are talking a weekend beer centered trip 2-3 hours away from Boston - Burlington would be my pick. VT beer > ME beer.
