Anyone know of courses on the North Shore that make an effort to stay open during winter when conditions allow?

Cape Ann in Essex stays open year round.

Concerning the annual Refuge gift, is there any way we can check what address NLU has on file?

Thank you! Anyone know if/when they go out?

Cape Ann is awesome - fried clams are off the charts.

Just Signed up for the TOUR of Greater Boston, anyone have experience playing in their events?

Never signed up with them but have done the New England Series for the past couple of years. Pretty cool to be able to get out onto courses that I wouldn’t normally be able too.

Think I’ll do the Tour this year, New England Series the next, and see which format/style is more appealing for the years after. I definitely want to get out to private courses that I don’t yet have connections for normally

In terms of individual limit - that would be a personal call, how much you are willing to spend on a round, how good of a cause, how much it may jeopardize your relationship…

In terms of value - I think you could make some comps with other top 100 golf courses. 300-400 seems reasonable.

Nice! I’ve been a member of the Tour for 5 years. I usually play about 6-8 events a year. I’m on cape cod so haven’t made too many events north of Boston. It’s great being able to play some really good private courses and the competition is fun.
We will have to play an event together some time.

For sure! I like to get down to Plymouth to play Waverly and PineHills a few times a year. Once the schedule for the Tour comes out we should coordinate.

Couple things to keep in mind once the season starts.

  • when booking window opens be ready to sign up for any events that are on your list. Membership was full the past 2 years and the events filled up fast. You can always cancel your request within the window so you’re not charged.
  • pace of play can still be an issue even though they have handed out penalties for slow play. Haven’t had a sub 4.5 hour round in a long time. Not everyone is fully aware how to play ready golf. When walking is available it helps with the wait on tee boxes etc.

Appreciate the insight, when do they usually release the schedule?

Usually beginning of February for April and May events.

Nice, hoping for some good events to start the season off right

Any idea if they discount the membership for those who already have a GHIN account?

I get lazy about booking tee times for myself at new courses. This looks like a fun way to play more in the area, meet new folks, and get access to some nice private courses.
