Roll Call: Maine

17 is so pure. The whole course is. Glad you enjoyed it. What was the fall rate?

Fall rate. They aerated on wednesday and Thursday unfortunately but nothing could keep my jaw from hitting the floor on those greens. Wow.

40% off everything in the pro shop… wife and I did some damage

In the top 5 of best set of greens I’ve played for sure. Maybe top 3.

The list includes:
The Old Course
Pasatiempo
Lake Merced
Cape Arundel
No. 2
Sweetens

Sounds like a great plan. Consider me very intrigued by a covered range with TopTracer. It’s a little unclear if the plan is to make it a Par 3 course or what, but I wouldn’t consider any hole there to be a great loss. Hopefully they keep some of the money they raise as an endowment for course maintenance. It was pretty dire the one time I played there this summer.

Maine Golf summer outing followed by beers at Maine Beer Co? Sign me up. I’m sure we’ll have to twist @GaryK8 's arm very hard as well

Btw: You’re all welcome. Our men’s league donates $500 from the annual pot to a local youth golf related endeavor every year, and this year was towards this project. I expect a bay named after me.

Hey guys, I will be traveling up to Portland a few times over the next few months for work. Any restaurant recommendations to check out while I’m up there? Will be on corporate dime, so not too budget conscious, just focused on where I can get the best meals possible

Scales is my favorite restaurant in the city. My favorite lobster roll is at Luke’s Lobster on the Portland Pier. Places like Eventide and Highroller will be quieter this time of year.

Non-seafood, I absoutely love Sichuan Kitchen and Quiero Cafe. Also really like Taj, Thai Tree and Magissa.

Central Provisions. Fore Street. Honeypaw.

Ramona’s for a proper hoagie.

Adding Duck Fat for lunch… Street & Co is always solid dinner.

Dok Mali is my Thai spot. Paper Tiger is good.

Chicken sandwich though… Crispy Gai’s Hot Honey Sandwich is chef’s kiss

My favorite restaurant in Portland is Isa Bistro. I’d second Scales for seafood, cool location, too.

J’s Oyster has a bit of a ā€œPortland before it became a tourist Meccaā€ vibe.

Thanks gents, I appreciate it!

Anyone trying to get a late round in? A mid-day round or something. Been wanting to pop over the border to play Hooper but IDK if that’s going to happen

Yes. I’m free next Sat

Hey hope you can make it to western NH! Hooper will be open until next Saturday and give a shout if you do make it - I’m a little biased but the course is in phenomenal shape.

I likely could play - swim lessons cancelled next Sat :sunglasses: anywhere you’ve got in mind?

Slight update from my social planning coordinator- I have to be in Pelham NH for 2pm Sat lol. Anywhere cool headed that direction, or at least south of me, you’d want to play? I’m not too up to date on NH tracks.
