Just got an email that Resurrection Golf is ending its management of Old Marsh on New Year’s Eve, great news. They’ve done a terrible job and I was really considering changing clubs next year.
Conditions were brutal this summer and a bunch of original members were threatening to leave for Sanford CC. It sounds like ownership will bring in another management company next year though.
Funny a guy mentioned this to me today as a rumor he heard but was going to ask you on Sat.
They actually explicitly addressed some “rumors” in the email which I thought was funny but nice to get context. Sounds like they may not stay open through the winter with their sims this year, unfortunate because they have three Trackmans.
So that just leaves Bath under the Resurrection umbrella.
Played here for the first time last month. Absolute shit conditions & wonky layout. That horseshoe par 5 is one of the dumber holes ive ever played.

Oh yeah, the conditions were terrible this year. Would you believe me if I told you the fairways in particular were near perfect last summer?!
That par 5 (13th) is stupid. They actually found out earlier this year the course doesn’t own a portion of the land that the cart path next to the green is on. They’re moving it to cut across the fairway about 120 out and it’ll wrap around that huge bunker next to the green.

Played 9 at Old Marsh a couple weeks ago and was shocked how bad the conditions were as compared to a few years ago when I played.
For those who discussed Prouts earlier, I have had the privilege of playing there once a year for the last 7-8 years. A delightful walk. Driver does not leave the bag often. Greens are pure. And the weather has been delightful in late September.

Ha that hole stinks. Think it used to be a par 5 now it’s a 4 and visually it’s just a terrible line off the tee
Yup, they switched it to a par 4 in 2021. You either have to carry the hazard entirely & have it stop on the smallest part of the fairway, or play out towards the bunkers and have ~200 in off a downhill lie. Going through the fairway is in someone’s yard and OB. The majority of people who play OMCC aren’t reaching the green in two, same with 18.
Last min tee time: @GaryK8 and I are pivoting to Neddick due to a frost delay situation. We go off at 10:50, 2 slots open. In pretty good shape right now.
That was a great day! The rest of us played Arundel afterwards. Hard to beat 36 holes at those two courses, at least in Maine. I have dreams of attempting a 54 hole day at Web, Arundel and Prouts followed by drinks/dinner at the Black Point Inn.
