Little bit of rain in the forecast but i do not care in the slightest

Here for the Harris and Resurrection hate, but I do not support Bangor slander. The Queen City is the ā€œgateway to Downeast.ā€

Anyways, Penobby member here, if anyone ever needs a sherpa. It is a true gem of a course, contours and routing nirvana imo. But people around here seem to be mostly golf-architecture-illiterate and would rather mindlessly hit approach shots into big boring domes over and over and over again (looking at you Bangor Muni) than play engaging golf shots. Sigh…

I meannnnnnn….

But you aren’t wrong - I love a muni more than your average Joe, but Bangor is underwhelming to be nice lol.

Penobby is worth a visit. Wish the Downeast Metro switched the Muni for it instead.

I’m trying to figure out a time to get to Kebo, I’d love to add Penoby to that trip as well. Likely won’t be this year, but we can definitely connect next year!

Whoa whoa whoa, now we are hating on my childhood golf course. Where else can you hit a tee shot that scrapes the bottom of a landing KC-135???

I was gonna say, I’ve probably come closer than I’d like to some of those military crafts

Fair point. Last time I played the former Brunswick NAS course I got buzzed by two fighters while I stood on the 6th tee.

Only love Bangor Muni bc I would play it after class in college. The crowd I was with didn’t even mention to me Penobscot and we were living in Orono while I commuted to Husson. I missed out on playing a better course but Bangor Muni got me back into golf my senior year 12 years ago and I haven’t put a club down since.

In Maine today, without clubs, just threw together a map of the courses discussed in the FE pod if it’s of help (to out-of-staters like me).
