Roll Call: Kentucky

I have no idea. It is crazy!

Hope everyone in the bluegrass is doing ok. Absolutely devastating what happened to Mayfield.

All of my family hails from the western part of the state and luckily everyone was ok.

I feel ignorant… just seeing what’s happening there. Prayers from California. Thinking of all of you right now.

Was it not gusting 30mph+ in Indiana like it was in Louisville??

Sunday wasn’t bad at all here in Evansville, IN. Saturday was a whoooooole different story.

Nope, it was super nice sunday, frost delay in the AM, but clear blue skies.

Sorry I read as Saturday and was impressed others were braving those elements!

Hello all… While I’m not from KY (I reside near the TN/KY state line), I have a whole lot of family who are, especially in the Princeton area. Although we are several days removed from the tragic storms, I recognize we are still at the beginning of the process. I sincerely hope all of your loved ones made it through and that the process continues as well as it can.

This past summer, I began a match play event (The High Cotton Classic) here in Tennessee that will soon be expanding to include the Bluegrass State. While I was watching the news in preparation for the storms to hit us, I was inspired to do whatever little bit I could to help in these unfortunate situations moving forward. All that to say this… We will be launching the High Cotton Relief Fund to directly serve people in communities affected whenever and wherever tragedy strikes near us. I’ll be rolling out details on how you all can get involved in The High Cotton Classic and support this initiative in the coming days, but I just wanted to take the chance to introduce myself and let you all know that you’re still in many of our thoughts and prayers. I hope the prospects of a match play event starting in mid-April provides a little distraction and stirs some excitement.

I hope everyone enjoyed the weather today and was able to take advantage of the fact that golf should always be free on December 25th.

Super important stuff here. What roost are we joining? I had signed up for Ohio previously as that was suggested but I’m wondering if Tennessee might be a better fit. Thoughts?

Tennessee already has several members from the Bowling Green area. We welcome all Kentuckians to join The High Cotton Club! With our High Cotton Classic (match play event) having a dedicated KY bracket, I think it’s a great fit and you’ll thoroughly enjoy what all we have planned. Our guys are super excited already

I signed up for the Ohio, but I would be interested in Tennessee as well. Literally just want to go to meet ups and play new courses

Love to hear it, bring it on! Check out post #784 in the Nashville Roll Call to #getinvolved

We’ll have the full schedule dialed in as soon as we have the regional with the Roosts from North Carolina sorted

Definitely make your own decision based on where you are. My assumption was most on here are in the Louisville and Lexington area so the Cincy group made sense (I thought it would be only Cincy at the time). If you are toward Bowling Green it absolutely makes sense to do Nashville. I’m north of Louisville so it’s only about an hour in good traffic to the bridge in Cincy. I get to Nashville occasionally and might dabble in both.

I’ve played a lot of Nashville golf over the years though, and there are some gems in Ohio I’m hoping to play and this will be a good excuse.

Plus being closer to Cincy, Dayton, and Columbus than Nashville make it likely for me to play a few events.

Same boat. Based in Lexington so Cincy is way easier. My parents live in Dayton so another easy spot. I’d be down if a KY contingent went and show Tennessee people who are on top (North, but my 4 year old says we are on top of Tennessee).

Funny you mention that… Right now, we’re looking at semifinalists from the Kentucky bracket in our match play, The High Cotton Classic, to join semifinalists from the Alabama and North Carolina brackets to face a team from Tennessee in the inaugural High Cotton Cup.

*The Classic was planned before we became a Roost and now has become one of our Regional qualifiers. There may be a shift in teams due to increased involvement from KY/NC/AL, but we’re fired up to be bringing some border state competition to the table. To sign up for the KY bracket of our match play, shoot your GHIN/WHS# to highcottoncattle@gmail.com

For anyone involved/interested with the Ohio Roost, they just posted the sign up for the Cincy event. I know this will be the most likely for us in KY to attend.
