My girlfriend’s grandmother lives there and they have many community cookouts. The fact they don’t use the frying pan for any of them is a travesty!

As the person that started this Roll Call thread many moons ago (and have completely neglected), it with a bittersweet tone that I let you all know I have traded in corn and pork for potatoes and beef and moved to Idaho. I will absolutely be back to Iowa. It is where I grew up and where much of my family still lives. When that happens, I will make sure to post in here to try and join for some golf. I will definitely be trying to block out time to make it to the Butter Cow. Best tourney in Iowa.

Driving through Iowa as I reloacte to the west coast. Looking for any recommendations for Davenport courses worth playing. Hoping to play early before hitting the road on my way to Wild Horse.

Depending on your route and timing, Iowa City is only an hour from Davenport on I-80.
Finkbine is a great choice.
Brown Deer is another solid option.

Davenport - I second the TPC and Palmer tracks, would throw in Glynns Creek for public options too.
What day are you rolling through? As long as it’s not a Tuesday I’m happy to sherpa any of the public options.

Depending on your timing, I’d be happy to host you at Oakwood.
I’d also 2nd the Fyre Lake option. Worth the deviation from your route.
Deere Run can be a fun time, just check with the shop that it’s not cart path only which makes for a not so good time.

I decided that course was like if someone was trying to build a combination of Augusta, the Old Course, and Sheep Ranch on a budget of $10…
We must go back this year.

Has anybody in the Davenport area come across this guy on Facebook? He pops up on my FB marketplace browsing all the time and has a shit ton of stock to just have at home. I’ve been to Davenport once but if I find myself there I’m definitely going to try and swing by.
