Get out of here East Dubuquer
D) all the above
I think I’ll be staying at the water park hotel if my kids come. If not I can pick where to stay.
Waterpark hotel is downtown on river and close to a lot.
Golf: Meadows is the best public course but Bunker Hill is a short quirky par 69. If youre looking for more quirk with a view, Birchwood across the river in WI is 9 holes with a few overlooking Mississippi river.
Beer: Dimensional Brewing. Backpocket Brewing has a game room in basement.
Cocktails: Wicked Dame and First Reserve Whiskey bar.
Wine: Stone Cliff has nice patio with sweeter wines.
Dive Bar: Pauls Big Game Tavern. Cheap PBR, cast iron burger and assorted animals including a polar bear on the wall.
Food: Might defer to @Worst12onEarth . Havent eaten out downtown much recently.
Kid activities: Eagle point park to watch barges go through locks. Hike Mines of Spain. Fenlon place elevator, cable car goes up bluff for good view. National River Museum is cool.
What dates? I may be back in a couple weeks.
7 hills is another brewery that is a good hang and has pretty good food.
Food: Copper Kettle, Brazen, Adobos is good for a quick meal or breakfast burrito. If you are in town for a weekend, the farmers market has some good stuff.
I mean, he should really get a taco pizza from Happy Joe’s and call it a day.
Especially if they have a very special birthday that night!
Wasnt sure if he’d havd Happy Joes. If you haven’t, go half taco and half BLT. It will change your life.
What days are you around? I live here. Can try and Sherpa you around for a round and some grub
Not booked yet. But looks like 15-18 Aug
I teach on 17th in am. On 16th I think I’ll take the family to field of dreams at some point.
Grew up in the area. Can confirm everything that has been said. BLT from Happy Joe’s is life changing. If you’re in Dyersville, Textile Brewing wouldn’t be a bad place to check out.
Heading to Cedar Rapids this week for a work event. Anything I should be looking forward to or do I need to temper my fairly low expectations
Where are you staying? CR isn’t too bad in the right area. Looking for golf, beer, restaurants, etc?
I honestly have no idea. Fairly certain I am staying downtown? I know that I am playing Elmcrest on Monday.
I was hoping for nicer weather. Instead, I am flying into the same weather I have here in Siesta Key, minus the Gulf of Mexico
But you get a muddy ass river instead. WIN WIN BABY.
Hey, that area may be limited to the grounds of CRCC, but the point still stands.
You know what, that’s fair. I’ve never even sniffed that area, let alone accessed such lofty topography.
