First timer. Live south of Bloomington. Not sure what to say…NLU videos have renewed my love for golf this year. I’ve always played a ton, but I’m not sure I have enjoyed it for years. I never thought about course architecture until the guys made me notice. I took a long look at how I thought about golf and how I play after binge-watching all the “Tourist Sauce” seasons.
I’m really grateful for their work. I look forward to seeing not only the locations they visit, but also the camaraderie.
If it matters, I’m a 3 handicap with the short game of a 25, and that’s probably charitable.
I look forward to learning more from all of you, and working on my game in a more fun way.
Hello Gents,
Just moved from Texas to Fort Wayne, and will be here for the foreseeable future. If anyone has any courses they’ve played around this area or ones that I need to know outside the city, holler.
If anyones in or around here, shoot me a message. Would love to show off my 5 foot lip outs.
SoCal golfer who’s going to be visiting my Fiance’s family in Indianapolis from Dec 19-22 and Bloomington from Dec 23-26. It looks like Monday is going to be 47* and sunny…
Are courses still open? Anybody want to play? Am I insane?
Welp… We got our first snowfall (3-5 inches) of the year in Indy last night and expect to get another few inches this afternoon. Most of the snow should be gone by the time you get here, but I doubt many courses will be open.
Yeah, probably won’t know until Sunday whether courses will be open. If they’re open, some may have regular greens and some may have temporary greens in the fairway. So you’d have to do some research.
Think anything around Bloomington or within a 1-1.5 hour drive will be open on Tuesday? I don’t know much about the area, but right now I’m thinking maybe the Donald Ross course at French Lick.
Looking to set up a weekly game in the Indy area for 2020. Was thinking of a 4 course rota on some of the more reasonably priced/strapped eligible public tracks around the city. I went with the below courses based on typical tee time availability, distance from other parts of the city, and trying to keep rounds to a good value overall, but am open to suggestions. Hopes would be to start in mid-March once we get past the sustained cold.
Present Rota Plan:
WEST - Eagle Creek
NORTH - Brookshire
EAST - The Fort
SOUTH - Southern Dunes
Mid-Summer/EOY Matches - Brickyard Crossing
Would love to hear people’s thoughts and get something in motion. I’m happy to organize tee times and scoring when the time comes.
