Looks like it’s for the Landing at Fort Harrison, shoot me a DM with your email and I’ll get the pdf over tomorrow!
@auribe14 gonna give Evan first dibs on this one, unfortunately only one course in TH, thought there was 2. To both of you, there is one for a course in Paris, fully realize that’s another 30 minutes out of the way but throwing it out there.
Welp - The Pfau has decided to close on 4/8, so I’m looking at some other options. Anyone have any feedback on the below public course options? Focusing on the SE portion of the state.
Shadowood
Timbergate
Royal Hylands
Otter Creek
Hickory Hills
The Legends GC
Salt Creek
Antler Pointe
North Branch GC
Wyaloosing Creek GC
Just played it Monday. In pretty good shape for the time of year. Front nine is pretty much flat and fairly straight. Hole #10 goes up hill and it’s still a pretty flat course (you hit over the canyons) until #15.
Then you get to the bottom and have a couple greens that you play up to. Not a bad option if you want to stay close to Bloomington. Let me also suggest Martinsville Country Club as a good course close to Bloomington.
Dude. Super quirky golf course. Very scenic. Super short. usually in pretty good shape. We drive up and play once a year. Call me that day, I’ll come meet you up there.
I’d get Otter in before the renovation closure. Should be beautiful with budding trees and such. Shame Pfau is closed but you’ll have to come back for one of our events then
Driven by it a million times, never played though. I went to IU but we usually played Cascades, the old IU course, or Stone Crest. At the time, Stone Crest was great. I’m not sure how it’s aged the last 12 years though
When I picked up golf in 2012 I had a student pass at Stone Crest. I bet I’ve played there 150 times. Haven’t played the north since they regrassed and it’s been 2 or 3 years since I’ve been back out there but it’s as I remembered it over a decade ago.
Pretty sure Jimmy said they’re going to be open all year before construction starts. As of late last Fall they still didn’t have definite plans for the complex, let alone details course plans ready for construction.
Indiana friends! I have a work colleague going to Indianapolis in early May and he’s looking to get a quick 18 in and looking for recs. I told him I have the perfect group to answer that question. He’s leaving Milwaukee early to get through Chicago and looking to play when he gets in or reasonably around Indy.
If it’s May, that means he could get to play the Brickyard while the cars are practicing which is freaking incredible. Brickyard Crossing.
I just played the Fort this past weekend and it’s so dang fun. Especially if your friend has a low-to-medium handicap. Great mix of holes, awesome setting, etc.
