Roll Call - GB & IRE

haha thanks, Homer is legit my middle name so I’ve really leaned into the whole Homer Simpson connection

Just joined the Refuge and a new member at Goodwood as well, let me know if you ever want to get in round in sometime.

Hi @Homer24. Yes always keen to get some golf in. Can you do mid-week after work while we still have the light? failing that weekends are good too.

@boozebirdiesbikes mid-week after work is perfect - just let me know what days work best for you

Goddam sheet keeps sticking for some reason. :rage:

Welcome. My place has a reciprocal with Goodwood, always been meaning to play there again. The buggies are awesome

Hi Guys,

Stumbled across the refuge recently. Am off work for next couple of months with an injury (that allows me to still play golf!), and so trying to fit in as many rounds as possible.

I live in Leeds so am happy to host anyone up here (play at Moor Allerton), but will spend a lot of time in London the next couple of weeks where my girlfriend is currently based.

Feel free to get in touch if anyone fancies a knock!

Cheers,

Josh

Are we any further on with organizing a game Irish (and GB) Refugees? Winter is coming lads and its a different game when its 6 degrees out, howling a gale, 10 layers deep and cant feel your fingers for the first 5 holes.

I would be happy to have you out at my place but I suspect there are better venues than a wet parkland in Co Meath.

To steal a phrase from the NLU Crew - Lets go Launch em???

I’m from Kent but playing Moortown solo on Saturday 5th October at 14:36 if you want to join? It’s £45, no deposit needed.

Long-term I have Friday May 1st earmarked for Alwoodley as Charlton are playing Leeds away the following day. If possible I’ll try turn that into a 36 hole day.

Awesome. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending how you look at it!) I’m booked in for Cruden Bay on the 5th. Alwoodley could work though… let’s speak nearer the time :+1:

There is a RACDG meet (The Shut) being planned for the start of November at Prince’s and Royal Cinque Ports in Kent. Then we have the MacKenzie Cup the weekend after Easter next year at Moortown & Alwoodley.

We have the odd ad hoc meet up too. And I’d love to get the Irish contingent playing. The Island / Portmarnock might be the best bet as all roads lead to Dublin.

@The_Cad_Says can you remind me of the details on The Shut? after a very brief search I can’t seem to find anything

We’ve haven’t booked it yet, but most likely the first weekend in Nov. Sat at Princes. Sun at Deal.

Fire me over your tel number and I’ll loop you into the What’sApp group chat.

Stayed in Sandwich this weekend… it was beautiful and the courses are all in fantastic condition. If there is a better stretch of Links golf in the world, I have yet to find it

Hi All,

Been an avid NLU listener/watcher/tweeter for about a year now but just getting involved in the refuge.

Based in Glasgow, member of Cathkin Braes Golf Club, very nice little parkland track on the outskirts of Glasgow.

Hi Gary

We’ve got a few Scots in here. @Rebus is also near Glasgow.

And we’ve got a pretty healthy RACDG chapter in the GB&I section. Hit ameet up planned for November in Kent and St Andrews the same week as the NLU Invitational.

Hey All,

Don’t know if this is the spot but Im looking to head down to near Liverpool and Manchester later this month or early Oct.

Looking to play a few places down there if anyone is a member or looking to play.

It would be my self and my fellow Golf Management student from the US. We are 24 and 22 and studying for a Semester near Edinburgh and looking to play some great golf.

Thanks,

Ryan

I had spoken to DJ about some sort of meet the same week as the trip - would definitely be up for getting a round somewhere and hopefully meeting the NLU guys on the tour at some point

Do you want to bung your name down on the Google Doc, even as a maybe? It’ll probably be around £300 for accommodation and Links Ticket. Obviously more if you get on TOC.

Yeah just read up on that - sounds great. I have accomodation in Anstruther which is just 20 mins outside st andrews - so would just be paying golf. My and my mate who’s not on the refuge just yet will stick ourselves down as maybes.
