Roll call Florida refugees

Going to be in the Sarasota area next weekend and will be looking to tee it up if anyone is out that way.

Playing in the FSGA mixed this weekend, this should be a laugh. Playing Vineyards in Naples - very forgettable course but looks pretty easy. Let’s see how this goes now I’ve put the commentators curse on myself.

The fact you’re not playing in the gainesville event tomorrow deeply saddens me

Do I make you guis happy or my wife?

This weekend gets me freedom for the rest of the year - no contest

There aren’t a lot of premiere courses in Pensacola. The areas outside Pensacola are a little better. Perdido has a couple good courses. Perdido Bay Golf Club and Lost Key (Lost Key is a bit tight. Drive it well or play up a tee and don’t hit driver). Stonebrook in Pace is solid. I’ve heard Tiger Point in Gulf Breeze is starting to improve. Hidden Creek in Navarre always seems to have good greens.

Echoing what @Mini-Driver said - Pensacola golf is kinda meh. Lost Key is nice, but NARROW (frequently called Lost Ball instead of Lost Key). Scenic Hills is a decent track. It went through a rough phase a couple years ago, but I’ve heard it’s better now.

His best bet is to stick with the course on base (A.C. Read). It used to be kept in pretty good condition, and as a bonus you can see the Blue Angels practicing if you get out in the mornings during the week. They’ve also got a Par 60 exec course that is fun to play if you’re in the mood for that kind of day.

Oh and back to the main topic - I’m up here in NW Florida (Destin). Didn’t see any main threads for this area, so figured I’d mention it here. Two young kids have prevented me from golfing recently, but I’ll get back out there one of these days!

Hey friends :v:

I’m an Ohio guy, gonna be making a trip down to the Tampa area September 24-26. On my way back, I’ve planned to hit Winter Park for an early nine on Monday the 27th, and Jax Beach in the afternoon. Any takers?

this is ambitious. I LOVE IT

just make sure you book your tee times as early as possible since both can be tough to get spots on depending on the time/day

You may not know the answer to this but how far out can you book a time? If I can call both places and set one up now, I’ll just go ahead and do that.

iirc “members” can book earlier than “public” but looks like 2 weeks for JB and a week for WP9

I’d say call to make sure but I don’t believe you can book outside those blocks even when you call

Hello all, going to be on vacation in central FL starting next week and was seeing if any locals would want to play Palatka and/or WP9 next Monday (the 19th). Monday is the only day I have free unfortunately but I would love to meet up with somebody and play!

That’s a fun course!

I haven’t been on it in some time tbh. This will be the first I’ve played in since the most recent reno. I’ve heard its in fantastic shape. Been visiting New Smyrna since I can remember.

I played it last summer and one or two tee boxes were under construction but other than that, it has to be one of the best kept secrets for an inexpensive round on an all-around good course

what’s up guys, I live in West Palm looking for some people to play with. I’m a 10.6 and don’t club twirl. Am looking for a game this weekend if anyone’s playing between Jupiter and Boca

Found a great spot for a refugee meetup with @2ndGuyStripeShow & @Big_RanDeer

Not one of us hit a bad shot.

Welcome to The Refuge! I’m in the lake worth area, and am usually playing every Sunday morning. Be happy to tee it up sometime.
