The last thing on the planet I want to do is bash the caddie situation there. Those programs are important.

For reference…$140 flat is more than I made per bag as an honor caddie at a Top 100 club that featured almost all full-time loopers.

Our caddie at The Park was 16

It always felt so weird to me that they have a caddie program there. It kind of flies in the face of open golf and golf for everyone, when they push an additional $140 minimum onto to customers. Place just leaves a bad taste in my mouth because of the marketing, can’t have it both ways. Can’t be the great local affordable muni and the high profile Gil Hanse course with a caddie program charging $200+ green fees ($150 for city residents in season)

they are unquestionably onto something when it comes to the par 3 course under the lights and the putting course. I drove by Friday night and it was SLAMMED at 8:30 PM.

That’s pretty incredible.

Agreed, they’re going about the caddie thing the wrong way. Should be using the model CommonGround has in place.

Par 3 course and Himalayas under the lights with drinks is awesome

I agree that their motto of “open golf” somewhat conflicts with the price point. It does seem like they’re trying to have it both ways.

With that said I think The Park is a good value for what they offer which is an incredible course. If you had the means to play there once a week it would still cost a fraction compared to monthly dues at a private club in south FL with a comparable course.

I agree, if it were a private course it’d be hundred of thousands to join. Gil Hanse did a course at apogee in the Stuart area and that’s like $500k+ to join. It’s the trying to have it both ways that just annoys me that a muni is charging that much, but they have a full tee sheet so can’t blame them really.

Maybe a hot take but I think The Park is better than the Hanse course at Apogee. The Park sits on much better land and is more interesting in my opinion.

Obligatory “how’s bragging camp going?” And secondly that property is just drained swamp land that was farmland before hand so really not surprised. Florida Club is a few miles away and that course is nothing special, so didn’t really think apogee was gonna be a world beater

Apogee as a whole should be world-class when it’s all finished. The recently opened South course seems favored over the West/Hanse from what I’ve heard. They moved a lot of dirt to make some dramatic land movement on the South course.

Just played Apogee West last week and can confirm The Park is wayyyyy better. West is nice but there is just nothing special about it. I kept waiting for it to get exciting but it never did.

I’ll take your words as gospel since my chances of playing Apogee are less than 1%

Sent you a DM.

Might be a little too South but Palm Coast has some private gems that I have some connections at. Also Riviera CC in Ormond is absolutly Mint. Greens stimping close to 13 right now and just pure bermuda.

I just recently checked this place out because it was on the historical golf trail. The no tee time model is kinda sick. Fun course too. Excited to get back.

Would love to tee it up with some Flagler County or Flagler County adjacent enthusiasts. I’m pretty much cool with any where 2 hours or less so lets get on it.
