Holeout!! There’s a name I haven’t seen in a while. Hope you are well, my friend.
We are staying the night, en route to Atlanta tomorrow AM. “Knoxville adjacent” might be a better term. We are staying in Bearden / West Knoxville. We are Marriott people, and the Courtyard seemed easy/right off 75.
Good to see your name too. Hope all is good with the fam, especially Cameran.
Candidly, the best coffee spots are downtown. Kbrew is a very respectable spot tho, with good bagels. It’s about a mile west on Kingston pike near the mall.
If you do want to venture downtown, Remedy is tops for me. Parking stinks (street parking on Broadway is the best bet tho), but it’s worth it and so are the bagels at Paysan next door.
If you venture out near downtown I’d also recommend Wild Love. Their pastries are awesome and they have Counter Culture coffee. They have received some national recognition before as well.
I hadn’t heard of Matt Robbs before this post but now I’m scheming to get is to downtown knox for breakfast sometime. The biscuits on their google page look incredible.
Matt Robbs is legit and needs to stay somewhat unknown. Other good coffee options not too far from there is TreeTop in Sequoyah area. Also would share Likewise on the east side of town, in addition to Remedy and the other spots mentioned.
I know Matt personally, and can assure you no amount of success will make him want to expand. He has a sweet setup right now, and loves being able to just, like, take an entire month off at a time if he wants to.
Zero employees, loads of demand, loyal customers, comfy living. He’s doing a very european model in the middle of east tennessee. It’s great.
Nice. I haven’t played here yet, so would like to see as many places as possible. I live close to Brainerd and heard good things about Harrison Bay. Looks pretty sweet on google. I bet those two would be my home tracks.
Mocassin Bend isn’t the best but might be the easiest walk in the world. 0 elevation change or distance from tee to green. Downside to that is all the holes relatively blend together, not much contouring on the greens either. Great course to play with people who don’t get out a ton but Brainerd is infinitely more fun to play
Hi! I’m over in Sevierville; I’ll be sure to hit you up if I’m gonna play any Knoxville courses or if you want to come out to Sevierville GC or Island Pointe (fka River Islands).
If you’re interested in Nest/Roost events, there’s one in Kentucky at Park Mammoth and one in Georgia at Lawsonia, both on the same weekend. Our area ends up being at the intersection of several roosts (High Cotton Club, Peachtree Collective, Queen City Hive, and First Flight), so feel free to #getinvolved with any of them that you jive with!
Hi! I live in Seymour, grew up in Sevier County. I will definitely be playing Sevierville and Island this summer. Played Island a few months ago! I don’t know if I would have the courage to go to a roost event ha.
It might seem a little intimidating to meet a bunch of people who only previously existed in your life as usernames on an internet forum, but I promise every single event I’ve been to through this community has been incredible. Great vibes, great people.
It’s like competitive golf lite. Mostly everyone is there for the hang but you can choose to take it as seriously as you like.
