Roll Call: East Tennessee

Avalon is out that way. Haven’t played this year, but usually a decent track. To stay in the surrounding area, you about nailed it outside of adding FoxDen (private) or Gettysvue (private).

His FIL almost joined Fox Den then didnt and now more of his kids moved back to the area so he has less time on his hands and wont or that wouldve been an option!

He mentioned Wind River as a new option. Apparently they just recently rebuilt all their greens?

There is no reason to ever add these to the itinerary.

Played Wind River a couple weeks ago and it was quite nice I thought. Not a big fan of the Par 3s except for No. 7. Love the Par 5s.

And in agreement on Gettysvue. Layout and routing is terrible there. Fox Den I can’t speak on as I haven’t played there in 3 years, but I remember I wish I had gone across the street to Willow.

I’ve not played Gettysvue, but Fox Den never impressed me much. It’s a compromised layout where they try to make up for it with conditioning.

I would legitimately rather play Willow, Three Ridges, or Egwani before playing either of those two.

Egwani has the best public conditions in the area right now and it’s not particularly close. It’s amazing what they are doing over there.

Honorable mention for solid public course is Ruggles Ferry. much prefer the back nine because no. 3 is so weird, but what a nice track.

Windriver always seems to be in good condition. I love playing out there. I played Avalon Sunday and the greens are really coming in nicely. They shoul be perfect next year.

3 Ridges feels like its always in good shape too. I need to get back out to Egwani soon, been too long.

I loved egwani the time we played it, even though it had rained heavily and was pretty soft with some standing water. Would be nice to get back out there in good conditions.

Egwani is a great course but the play out there is so slow ever since Pine Lakes closed.

Hey guys. New member here and new resident of Knoxville. I’ve played Egwani a few times (love it), Dead Horse, Willow Creek and just recently joined Tennessee National as a golf member. Loving the golf down here so far!

welcome to town! slightly jealous of the TN National membership and the absolutely incredible driving range/bar/toptracer setup they have there. played there back in early September and that was the most fun i’ve had shooting 93

Thanks! Yeah been at TN National a month now and absolutely love it. Might be cool to get some peeps out for an NLU meetup there…the tee sheet is always WIDE open.

I’d come up from Chattanooga for a TN Nat’l meet up. I’ve played it a couple of times in scrambles but never on my own ball.

Drop a note in the Atlanta thread, I’m sure a few would make the trek if needed.
