Roll Call: East Tennessee

Patriot Hills and Dandridge used to be pretty fun. Both kinda quirky, especially patriot hills. Graysburg hills is way East but very fun.

I’m not paying you SHIT

I’m also happy to host a meetup at Green Meadow down in Maryville. It’s no Holston, but it’s a lot of fun.

@DavidElliottHHCC What day of the week is best?

For me it’s usually Tuesday/Wednesday around 4. I’m off by 3-3:30 most of the time

Graysburg, Sevierville GC and Asheville GC are on my list. Thanks!

If it’s the Asheville muni, it’s probably not worth the drive. The front 9 is a cool layout but it’s the definition of a goat track. The back 9 is horrific. It would be the only place worth it in town but I would t go out of my way.

I’m always up for a trip to Knox. I can get off work easily. Just holla

Sevierville GC is really fun. If you have a choice of River or Highlands tracks, go with River.

Interesting. Thanks for the tip. SSC had it listed as a hidden gem. Guess its Grove Park then.

It’s just been neglected over time. I wouldn’t play again. I’ve heard different opinions about it on here but I wasn’t impressed and I’m pretty open minded.

I’ve played over there for a few years. Best course in the area. Its never busy during the weekdays. Play 18 at River then front 9 at Highlands.

Has anyone here ever played Johnson City Country Club? It looks like it’s a Tillinghast design but I never hear it getting much love in East Tennessee.

I’ve played it plenty of times. It’s a nice place with some really interesting/quirky holes. IMO, they’re using Tillinghast’s name a little too much. From what I’ve been told, JCCC was originally 9 holes designed by Tillinghast, but many of the original 9 greens have been redone and moved. The other 9 holes don’t have anything to do with Tillinghast.

I played Three Ridges this weekend in the Knox County Am. Course is FIRM and FAST. Would highly recommend checking it out while they have it in tournament shape.

I haven’t played there this year so will have to give it a go. They get that course so damn firm for big events. A few years ago we played right after a mini tour event (IIRC) and it was still so firm that my 60 degree into 17 got ejected.
