Roll Call: Colorado -- @PJM v Colorado Golfers, @PJM only half guilty

There is a group. Not sure how active. Main event I go to is when Miami comes to town to play hockey against DU there is a Miami alumni section/ticket group.

Yeah, but that view.

That’s why the Montfort’s can do what they do and still get 3 million a year through the turnstiles.

This actually demands a reply from @Randy himself. I too thought this was a bit.

ROCKTober will never be forgotten.

Frankly, no. But they did exist, I’m not sure they even exist anymore

Yes. They do a few events a year at bars or other places around town and I know they went to top golf once last year. I’ve never been to one of their meetings though. Miami knows I’m out here and put me on their mailing list a long time ago. This has the names of people running it and links to their media pages: https://www.miamialum.org/s/916/16/interior.aspx?sid=916&gid=1&pgid=1697

I don’t know what to say–it was never a bit. I played it straight the whole time!

Denver area really has some of the worst franchise owners in sports. Kroenke is a piece of shit, and even though the Nuggets and Avs are good now, it took them forever to figure out how to make a good team. Rockies have the Monforts, who might be the most incompetent owners in American sports. And now the Broncos have whatever is going on with the Bowlen family. Pat Bowlen was a great owner, so it’s pretty likely the next owner will be worse.

Anyways, welcome @randy! If you’re listening to sports talk, stay away from 104.3. They only talk Broncos.

@Randy I have a 1250 tee time booked on 4/15 at Overland Park. Oldest active course west of the Mississippi! Need 3 more in the group. Open invite!

To be fair, it’s hard to tell sometimes. Your looming presence will be missed from the 904, but enjoy CO!

say what you want about CO teams, but we always have one good team going around. Now Michigan… that is some pain, like 5 decades worth of pain

That’s the nicest thing you could say to me

Haha, put me down for maybe. A lot of random shit I have to do–I forgot how much of a pain in the ass moving is.

On another note - it’s aeration season again. Good site to keep tabs on which courses are good: Colorado Golf Courses - Greenskeeper.org Free Online Golf Community

For public courses it’s almost perfect, but some courses do make changes and delay aeration if bad weather rolls in. For privates it’s not that accurate.

Colorado Avid Golfer posted their 2021 private club guide with all prices etc. listed if @Randy or anyone else wants to join the C suite.

A lot more clubs have waiting lists this year compared to last. One more sign there’s a ton more golfers competing for tee times. I hope all these new golfers give it up and realize it’s an expensive sport and we can get back to being able to grab tee times a few days ahead.

There are so many more new faces at our club these days. Lots of millennials. I’m starting to feel like the “old” gui sometimes versus being one of the youngest when we joined.

FWIW, some of that info isn’t up to date…just chilling here on a waitlist and the initiation was more

The under 40 deals would drive me nuts if I was at a club that did that especially now when golf is in high demand and you can get full pay members. Some clubs at least still require a significant initiation, but others price it barely over a public annual pass for the under 40. Yeah you need younger members, but if you’re giving it away, how many stick around once the full rate kicks in and they’re getting an amazing deal (freeloading) until that time.

About the only benefit of all these new golfers is we might get a few new courses. Water costs are gonna make that tough around Denver though and any new courses are likely going in far north in the Loveland/Windsor/Fort Collins area where water and land are more available and cheaper.

Holy shit had no idea Press Maxwell spread his seed so far and wide across Colorado.
