Prost is in the highlands, which has plenty of great restaurants as well. I highly suggest checking that neighborhood out.

Hoping to pick the brains of a few locals here for some decent suggestions. I’m heading out to Denver in late May with a group of people, it will be three couples going out there. Me and the other guys are all big golfers and plan to get out at least once to a nice course, but one of the other days the girls want to play too. Only one of the girls actually golfs semi-regularly, so I’m hoping some fellow refugees can toss some recommendations my way. We’ll be staying in Broomfield, but I don’t think proximity to there is of the utmost importance. Looking for a few suggestions on nice courses that me and the fellas can enjoy, and also some other more laid back courses that we can go out with the ladies who don’t regularly golf and enjoy more of a fun round. Thanks!

Walnut Creek is close to you and a fantastic course, great value too, def for the boys round. For the ladies flatirons in boulder is a super fun laid back muni, the Denver city muni’s are a nightmare to book these days unless you’re a loyalty member.

If you don’t mind driving and are looking for a more mountainous course, bear dance in castle rock fuqs, The Ridge at castle pines is also a fan favorite

Also homestead is a really fun executive adjacent course, fun for all golfers too

Riverdale Dunes might be a good place to look for a round for everyone. It’s got enough to keep big golfers interested but I don’t think it would be that big of an ask for the women. Would be a fairly close drive from Broomfield.

I second Walnut Creek for the guys. Good course, fairly unique to Colorado, close to Broomfield.

Riverdale Dunes is probably the most interesting. Dye Brothers with a bit of Tom Doak sprinkled in. Riverdale Knolls is the other 18 holer there and would be a good course for non-golfers as it’s pretty straightforward but can be a bit ‘boring’ for those looking for the GCA aspect of things.

Walnut Creek is another good suggestion.

A couple of others in the Broomfield/Thornton area, depending on what area of Broomfield you’re staying, Thorncreek and Broadlands or Colorado National.

Thorncreek is the more forgiving of the three, less water, again for consideration of the non-golfers.

I live and work in the area so any other questions just fire away.

It grows on you.

And it’s got a kick ass patio post-renovation.

Well, stop playing those fancy pants courses down south and come up sometime this summer.

I like the Aurora munis, especially Murphy Creek and Meadow Hills. Kids 12 and under are free after 2pm, which also keeps the Mrs happy.

I’m from Washington State and I’ve played Murphy Creek twice over the last two years. Kicks our ass every time. Can’t wait to get back there this summer.

Is there anyone in this thread that works in oil and gas? I’m part of the Denver Petroleum Golf League committee and we’re kicking off the 2021 season soon. Hit me up if you’re interested.

Thorncreek got rid of most of the really stupid stuff in the renovation and the greens are more interesting. But if you’re driving up here from the south part of town you’d rather want to play Walnut Creek, Riverdale Dunes, Todd Creek…probably even Legacy Ridge and Broadlands too before playing Thorncreek.

The worst part is they still had some small dirt patches in some of the fairways last year. How the hell do you spend millions renovating, regrading, replacing the whole irrigation system and re-grassing everything and still end up with dead grass spots in similar spots they had them before the renovation…

Anywhere open this weekend? I saw all the Denver public courses are closed. I don’t necessarily have high hopes but you never know…

Way down south is going to be your best bet. South of the springs. I called 4 Mile Ranch in Cañon City and they didn’t get any snow, but they’re booked full on Saturday. You may be looking around Pueblo, but I don’t know which courses are good down there.

Damn. Looks like I may have to stick to the range

Walking Stick in Pueblo isn’t bad

You know what really grinds my gears - when courses have tee times and they know they’re going to be closed. How hard is it to have a notification on the site that says your closed until further notice and not show tee times?
