How was Meadows? I’m going to play their Sunday.
Was great. Fairways were rollin, greens were not as slow as you’d expect for winter. Windy as hell though.
Only snow/ice I saw on the course was that ridge right side of 9 fairway; was amazed how clear the whole course was.
Course providing dimensions of the runways at the closest small airports. This is a new level of, “If you have to ask, you can’t afford it”.
Jeez. Nebraska continues to bring the heat.
Might be time to finally give in to @redbeard_golf and buy property there.
It’s actually not that expensive compared to other national memberships. Slightly more than Ballyneal.
After taking a small road trip around last fall. I’m telling most people I play with how good it is out there. Wild Horse, Awarii Dunes, Prarie Club are all amazing and honestly comparable, in price, to average public golf in Denver. Perfect for a short week of golf by car.
I’m all in favor of a once or twice a year Nebraska trip. We brought the RV out last summer for Bayside/Awarii>WildHorse for the Nebraska duel and it was amazing. Add a few days on to the trip to hit up PC, CRR, and Landman
Anyone trying to get out this weekend in Denver?
So @jhkaplan is going to join CapRock for us? Thanks! Smart move getting in now before it opens. I’ll forward you the details. Tell your wife the new car is gonna have to wait a few more years, but at least she gets a peaceful trip to some beautiful property in northern Nebraska 4-5 times a year and you’ll likely get to play a top 100 course (It will be malpractice if Hanse didn’t build something at least top 150 on that property).
Prairie Club isn’t the deal it once was. They’ve filled up their membership and don’t have as much of a need for the public, thus it’s gotten pricey.
If they’re going to limit the plebs to one post every 45 minutes they could at least have the common decency to add a countdown ticker.
I’m starting a new thing called Replying Up since I can’t do a witty response for 45 minutes:
@jhkaplan 1 will almost cover the initiation at the current rate. Cash that in!
Do they take Bitcoin?
The wind has to go down first.
But I did get on the tee sheet for Sunday.
Fair enough…keeping an eye on sat. Might walk Riverdale Knolls for $22 in the afternoon
Anyone thinking about playing this weekend? Saturday is going to be low 50s.
I have 2 spots open for a 12:50 tee time at CommonGround on Thursday. If anyone wants to join, and the snow melts, shoot me a message.
Too much snow/too cold…next time…
Is commonground the best option for an unlimited play/range membership in the Denver area? I live west of downtown and am trying to nail down a way to play a lot of golf for not a lot of $$ (hilarious right?!).
Also seen a similarly priced option at WestWoods in Arvada.
You’re still going to have an availability issue trying to book rounds with the rest of the public, but if you can get through that, the CG unlimited package is a great value. CC @PJM
Fox hollow might have a similar package, but course(s) and facilities dont measure up to CG. CC @DeadMan
Not worth it. Course is garbage, range balls are old and the par 3 is like a mile from the parking lot. Go somewhere else.
Fox Hollow doesn’t do that, as far as I know.
