Bear Dance was really fun. Lot of blind tee shots as others have said. Greens were challenging. Shot of the day was plugging my drive green side on 16:
I live in the area so play these often and would say that the Ranch is a better course. River has amazing views and some really fun holes but then there are some stretches of straight up circus
Been some activity in here lately so I’ll drop this in here for any CO guys not in the discord (Get in there, that’s where a lot of comms are happening). Our final event before the Roost Regional is Sunday July 16th at Walnut Creek. Tee times start at 9.
Plenty of spots available so if you’re interested check it out here: The Preserver Event ::
Thanks
Where do you find the discord channel? And why are people now posting on a different site? Why can’t they just post here?
In my experience, discord is a lot easier to follow since there are multiple channels: tee times, events, general banter, and all the threads dedicated to our season long match play flights. If all that was in here it would be a complete cluster fuck trying to sort through it.
Unfortunately it turns this refuge thread into a ghost town, but it keeps info much more organized since we have so much going on.
And if anyone wants to get into the discord please join the Rocky Mountain Rohlers roost and I will add you as well as provide info on season events.
Hey Y’all. Meant to reach out sooner than this. That said, picked up a tee time for Commonground tomorrow at 8:10 am.
Would much rather play with any of you fine folks. If you’re looking for a single give me a shout.
On a vacay from Nor Cal. Train to Granby from Sacramento. Been in Steamboat since Saturday. Been just resplendent. Cannot say enough about this place.
Anyways. Even if guis are getting a beer around my finish or later. Trying to get my prep in for the Nor Cal Roost Return match!
What dates? I’ll try to snag one for you.
Train from Sactown to Granby?! I might be over there at the range around Noon. Always down for a beer.
It was everything I thought it would be. Granby nearest to Steamboat… hence Granby…
Thanks but I’m just gonna hit blue moon with the wife. It’s her favorite beer and I’ve got a big golf trip in the works so I’m gonna get some good cred with her before I leave her alone with the kids for a week.
Hey Denverites! I’m visiting for a long weekend in August and looking to play golf on morning 8/4 (and maybe morning 8/5, if I’m lucky). As someone who has never golfed in CO, the only thing I know about is Common Ground, so I’d plan on rolling the dice on booking as a single.
Any other highlights or recs?
Walking up to the range right now… Just gonna ask random strangers, hey are you mofo 313?…
Howdy ya’ll. Just wanted to throw out a shout out to one of your own.
On Saturday, I was randomly paired up with another single at Diamond Springs in Michigan, one who had a very recognizable NIT Championship towel on the bag. We got to talking and it was your very own @Preston
We had just a lovely round chatting about golf and other things. He really talked up the RMR crew and was just an overall pleasure to golf with. Hope I get to go out west and tee it up with him and ya’ll soon.
He almost broke 80 in his first time seeing the course and really blew my mind with his 6w/9w set-up.
He’s got one awesome itinerary for his time in Michigan, good luck out there Preston!
Sorry, missed it the first time around.
I always rep Riverdale Dunes if Common Ground doesn’t pan out.
Homestead
The Preserve at Walnut Creek
Where in the area are you going to be?
The 9W is truly a weapon.
It was a great walk, and great to spend the morning with jsauce. My first trip to Michigan for golf, and super impressed thus far; Belvedere is a national treasure.
Diamond Springs
Not sure neighborhood but right nearby the Denver Country Club and the Botanical Gardens.
Yes it is!
