On the topic of Good / Okay courses, I hope the proposed RainDance National Golf Club is as good as advertised. CGA had a piece on it saying it should play firm and fast. I drove past the site last week and the land definitely looks wild from the road. Unfortunately, I forsee $200+ green fees.

Speaking of new courses, I just saw this on Golfwrx: Oakwood Land Company announces acquisition of Kings Point - The Villager
Parker feels like a golf desert so this is intriguing in the least. Although, I doubt the course will be very good.

Another Dick Phelps gem I hope.
Even with a good second shot into 4 using the slope that front left pin leaves a nasty downhill putt (which @jskovgaard drained). 6 was my favorite hole. I left Lakewood blown away by most of the par 4’s. Comparatively, I’ve played a number of good courses in Houston and left Lakewood impressed from a design standpoint. Lakewood also had some holes that were lacking that I won’t forget either.
Don’t crush my hopes this early.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in coming out to Valley during the week in October? Our guest rates drop here shortly, and would welcome a 5 some out (unfortunately I cant afford to comp everyone), but it would be fun to get out with a group from here.

Tue-Fri I believe. I’ll check when the rates change. I don’t think its worth $100 right now because we are doing some work on the course.
