@tmstrods and myself enjoyed a lovely walk through Kentucky inspired equine country in the Northwest Chicago burbs.
Greens were in great shape and tight. Were some pins placed on slopes? A few. But otherwise I will stand by Steeplechase being a decent track for $50 walking.

50 bucks aint half bad! Last time I played there on a weekend morning, you had to take a cart and it was like 90 bucks.
I played Pine Meadow just down the road for the first time, was a delightful walk.

I don’t know where else to post this, so you’re stuck with it.
I fucking sucked today. Couldn’t make contact with anything. Made my round at Shepard’s crook look like a below par round. In the past I would’ve been the club throwing guy and just pouted my way around. Today wasn’t that day. There wasn’t a shank or hosel rocket today (and there were many) that wasn’t followed by a “SICK” shout.
I’ve never been a good golfer, but this stupid place has allowed me to embrace that. I have accepted the fact. Some of you all are sticks, but in my experience here, the good golfers are some of the best people.
I don’t think there’s a point to this, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who is involved here. Especially our Roost leader @EConroy419
This place has changed golf for me, it was a good season this year and I hope to meet more of you next year.

In all seriousness - I am very thankful for the Refuge. It’s saved from from always playing with randoms on weekends if I couldn’t play with my dad, brother, or cousins. Seeing what good golf actually looks like from some of you has helped me become a better player. When this group got off the ground in October ‘20 I was a 22hcp. Now I’m down to a 12 and I just shot a 79 today.
Big thank you to group of diehards that have played every outing since Ravines back in 2020. Crazy to think we’ve been rocking and rolling as a group for that long.

Either way, I don’t care. Dogs? I love them. Big dogs, small dogs, fluffy dogs, skinny dogs. I am a bonafide “dog guy”
I’ve owned black labs, a pit bull, a Boston terrier, and a German short haired pointer.
The current crew is:
Basil, 10 year old Boston Terrier rescued from the streets of Detroit and Dijon, a pure bred bird dog who is scared of cardboard boxes.
