Moved to Chicago late last year. Will be interested in getting out and playing in the region when weather permits…. btw I’m from the South and used to year round golf…… when does golfing season usually start in the Midwest??

Welcome! We’ve got about four groups of sickos playing between today and tomorrow, so I suppose you could say we can golf year round! Lol. But in reality most start getting out mid March at the March Mudness event

The official golf season per the CDGA is April 1st to October 31st. If you decide to become a member with them and keep a cap through them, you are only allowed to post scores from a Chicago area course during the season. But you might get opportunities to play in other months. There’s a @SecondCityGC event at Kankakee Elks (1 hour south of Chicago) next month. Once I play in that, I’ll have played a round of golf in each month in the Chicago area (I’ve lived here almost 12 years now, I too come from southerly climates).

Consider joining the 2CGC roost, list your favorite pizza place, Chicago area course, and preferred alcoholic beverage.
