I really don’t understand what Discord does that can’t be done on the Refuge. It’s just another app I barely use clogging my phone.

Keeps this thread a bit more manageable. Also able to have more specific (and completely unserious) channels (shoutout course-cars) on Discord without blowing up notifications if you legitimately want to follow what’s going on here.
I’ve personally found organizing tee times via Discord to be the biggest benefit.
Notification settings are your friend, or delete it! Anything of real importance ends up here.

Basically there’s only two that are fairly active, general and tee times. Other channels pop up here and there but you can focus on those two and mute everything else. Also the events section is for specific events as well. It’s a bit redundant, sure. But it’s just a little easier to organize topics IMO.

It was kismet, thrilled to see ya! Awesome time had on a fantastic track. Even if, at times, I wanted to install a SAM battery due to all the planes taking off. Looking forward to the next one.

Was thinking about this after last night’s call and the question of what to do if the winner can’t/doesn’t want to go to the Ope’n. Why not add a column in the sign up sheet where people can check Y/N if they’re interested in that and we can then have a shadow leaderboard at these events for those spots based on the people actually able to go.

Sure I think I get this. What I’m saying is for example at Mt. Prospect if it’s a 40 man field, but 30 people check the box saying they are competing for the Ope spot, then whoever finishes highest among them gets the spot. I think it’s basically the same idea, but this way asks the question up front.

Put your name in here if you want to play some matches this fall. All are welcome, but don’t be the gui that signs up and then is out of town every week. Please only sign up if you think you could reasonably schedule 1-2 matches in September and October with other Refugees. This would be for fun and internet bragging rights. If enough people sign up I will figure out a trophy.
