Looking through historical shots on google earth, seems like in the time since the new holes were built in the late 90’s, they’ve gone back and forth between fully maintaining those two holes, maintaining only one of them, maintaining only the greens, and letting them go completely. Looks like one of them was in apparently playable shape as recently as last June, other one was being used as a turf farm (6/13/22 image):
I’d pass on the wedges. All yours @Setwilli
I’ll take the rangefinder with slope!
People helping people :). This is the real Silk Road.
Posted in the Discord but we’ve got one spot left with @Setwilli @andrewf and I at Buffalo Grove on Saturday at 12:45 if anyone would like to join!
Well found some answers on Google Earth
1994:
1998: 4L, current 7, 9, 10 built
and then in 2002: new #2 for Dubsdread
OK guys. I need some help… kinda a F/M/K for a specific hole. #12 at Prarie Isle (calling @baldvinny ).
This hole occupies a larger part of my golf-related thoughts than I’d like to admit, and generally haunts my dreams I’m having a hard time deciding if it is in a good way or not, and was hoping to wake our woke architecture community. With that, here is my powerpoint:
My typical is trying to hit a 220yd shot to the flat spot just past the 150 marker, but getting rejected left. I’ve sprayed driver into the left and right trees many times too. I still havn’t brought myself to hit the 7 iron off the tee to the flat area before the 200 yard marker so I can follow it up with a 3-wood down the shoot.
So what do you think? Is this a good hole? What are you hitting off the tee?
This is incredible.
Witnessed a truly impressive club throw by @baldvinny on 12 so I’m going with “great golf hole.”
Great hole, great course
I tend to just take driver and play the percentages. Been left with 70 yards at the bottom of the hill and been completely mutumbod off the first massive oak tree.
Many holes like that 2, 3,9, 12, 13, 14, 16 (though mostly shorter club now with the trees removed). 18 I always seem to have that go for broke feeling with the big overhanging oak tree guarding going for it in two.
You have to play 18 from the #1 fairway, no? .I also love the course overall. Just can’t figure out 12.
I played here about a month ago and completely ejected myself on the front 9. Played much better on the back but found the trees on 12 and spun the cart down the hill trying to break. Hands were shaking the rest of the hole, got lucky to make double. Still haven’t figured out the best strategy for 12 yet, supposed to go back in a couple weeks so I’ll try something different
12 at PI asks a very simple but difficult question.
Can you hit it at least 200 in the air through the small gap WAAAYYYY down there?
I agree with @cjordan929 that driver is the play. I figure if it’s good it’s really good and if I’m in the trees it has enough behind it to maybe give me a good(lucky) bounce.
The green is pretty receptive with the hill on the right you can get on or near the green from a lot of places with a little imagination and a lot of terrible decision making. #teamwindow
I don’t think it’s a bad hole, but it’s not a great one. It’s fine, and I’ve come to terms with it.
I look at it now as the last of the painful holes. I have referred to that stretch as Amen corner too.
@andrewf that club toss was a good one. Almost killed that rando that was with us. oop…
Anyone wanna play MP tomorrow at 1:50? I’m behind the desk at the moment and can add you to my tee time.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s
Idk what you’re selling but I’m buying it after this presentation.
This is post of the month stuff. CC @MerchCzar
Not sure if it’s a bad(sick) hole, but boy did this make me want to get back out to Prairie Isle soon.
Playing tomorrow morning…
