It was a grind. Proud of no doubles. Just made life too hard on myself all day. 4 3 putts because I couldn’t lag anything inside 5 feet. Deeper dive coming later as I sit in the body shop…first take from evaluation “oh man, that’s 10K easy” t’s and p’s for ya boy

I got lucky to go off late and miss the really terrible rain that hit the early groups. But it prevented me from getting there early enough to hit balls which showed early on. Started on 10. Couldn’t square it up early on but was E after 3. A piped drive, fanned 5i 35 yards right of target, shanked wedge then a massively chunked hybrid had me to +3. Took way too much club and almost went OB long but recovered to tap in range. Thinned a wedge that skipped off the hill in front of me and ended up 35’ from the hole and escaped with par. The next 9 were a stripe show in. Had birdie looks everywhere. 2 putt birdie on 2. Made a pair of 15-20’ footers on 5 & 6. 5 especially played brutally long. Tugged drive into trees on 8 and a crappy bounce on 9 led to closing bogeys and a yo-yo 74. Great speed all day and 3 lengthy putts were enough to save me from 9 holes of poor ball striking. Not sure if I got away with one or left a lot out on the course. Maybe I’ll take a proper warmup one of these days?
The best part of the day was catching up with @TheAbeFroman at the bar afterwards.
Anyone have any intel on the Merit Club?
