Bolingbrook’s range was a god damn crime scene in November. No idea how they get that back into shape come March/April
Yeah what the heck is the deal with the mats there. I was alternating them with Stonewall for range sessions because their range balls are half decent and not nearly as expensive as Stonewall. I thought I kept catching them on off days or something. Kind of a shame, I like that range.

They’ll tell you, with a straight face, that they can’t afford the maintenance.
….ask @baldvinny his thoughts on some of the pin placements out there.
I definitely have opinions about Foxford and it’s management.
It’s too bad too, because it’s a fun course.
Anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure of playing with @baldvinny needs to hear the two hole dictation of Foxford’s problems.
It’s beautiful.
I know this has probably been answered three thousand times in this chain … looking for a simple answer:
Wife and I are coming up to stay in downtown Chicago early April. Catching the Celtics/Bulls game, eating some pizza, shopping etc. I know weather that time a year may not allow us to play. If the weather is good enough, whats the best value course near downtown for us to play. We’re going to be staying in Wrigleyville.
Thanks!
Sydney Marovitz (Waveland) is a fun 9 hole course near wrigleyville.
Jackson park is an 18 hole city course a little further south.
Also, April shouldn’t be too bad weather wise. If so, just layer up and get out there.
FTFY
Does Pebble have coyotes?

Best course east of LSD, hands down.
In seriousness –
In the city you’ll be looking at park district courses that redfin could describe as “charming” with “great bones”. we love them, but they are what they are. waveland is a pretty special setting though (as is south shore). You’ll need to get to the burbs for like more proper golf that is also a value – Mt. Prospect with @EConroy419 as a sherpa is a priceless experience.
Ravisloe in April would be firm, fast, and likely pre szn rates as well. Harborside could be a “value” in april – you could get early season rates.
We’re in leagues by then!
Agreed on Ted’s feedback for city vs burbs. Jackson Park/South Shore has been penciled as a Tiger development with some Rolfing (for oh 6 years but Chicago politics) and Syd is our league on the lake home. Other city courses are fine to get out and scratch and itch (Robert Black, Marquette), but those are the best urban/lake experiences.
@BabblingBrooksKoepka '22 course review?
Been thinking about doing a season pass at foxford for 1700 (resident rate) with a cart. Worth the $$?
How many times do you see yourself playing out there and what’s the average price of a round with a cart?
+1 for Robert Black. Shorter than Waveland, but the greens have a lot more going on.
