Looking for a fourth to join @Ballgame, @BigBird, and me on Sunday afternoon at Black Sheep. Slide into the DMs for particulars if you’re interested.

Edit: All set here but if anyone is interested in getting out another time, feel free to check in with me and I’ll put you on my list for next time.

Monday Lawsonia-ers: How was it?

I was thinking I should have made the trek, but managed to play 36 locally, including an early blissful 2.5 hr round at Bittersweet GC. Greens were punched, but otherwise great conditions and weather.

Was a great day with @treeputttim. Course in great shape sans the bunkers being very hard packed but they were consistent. Trees were starting to turn. Weather was amazing but the wind really added to the challenge and made it a lot more difficult. Though the wind did assist a par save when it blew my putt in the sidedoor. Really wish it wasn’t a 3 hour drive but man that is the best value in golf at $70 to walk.

Such a crappy routing.

Just an immaculate day! Lived up to my name and 3 putted the first 7 holes out there! Still couldn’t stop smiling cause Lawsonia is that flipping good. What a special place. I cannot wait to be back.

And here’s some photos from Sunday at the Ryder Cup! Got to see a few shots by every single group out and had an absolute ball!

Front or back 9?

These are all the back 9, except the last two pics are 7 (boxcar par 3) and 6 (all world par 4)

Anyone looking to play Sunday? Pretty open to the time slot but would prefer mid morning.

Noooo which did you like better haha. I think most of us came away liking the front better when we went there this year which I was not expecting.

6-9 on the front are really good… 1 is okay, 2-5 are marginal.

Finally getting around a Ryder Pic blast. Went up for the day Friday. It was nuts - saw a ton of DJ throughout the day, he really stole the show along with Bryson in the afternoon.

Please note, this was not a decision I wanted to make. The beer fell and cracked open so I had no choice.

You were in Wisconsin, 60 minutes late to start drinking.

Yeah front 9 is my favorite. Both are great. But if I must choose and have to nitpick I guess I’d say 15-16 probably feels like the weakest stretch on the course. Plus I just think the routing on the front is brilliant. A really nice journey where you go through several different zones. Never playing two holes in the same direction in a row. And after the opening trio of par 4s you never even play back to back holes with the same par (until 15-17).

Playing Winnetka Golf Club 10/4 at 10:20 if anyone wants to join. Tee sheet is wide open, $36 to walk 18

The back does blend together a bit. I usually only need 2 rounds to remember every hole and struggle a bit to remember the entire back 9 three months removed.
