Roll Call “Chicago” (Part 1)

And cruise the chain after.
EDIT - guess a little west…

Right after the Fourth of July? Nah, the water is 31% more urine that usual.

Would that be better quality vs runoff and spring blooms?

Oh god no. I mean you already have all of the houses with 100 year old septic systems that are probably in great working order and not leeching into the water from Antioch to McHenry.

BIG fan of reverse routing but id want to play the course missionary first

Not to mention all the crap people throw in the river when doing yardwork in the spring.

My Grandma’s house is down river and we see a LOT of interesting things float by in Spring haha

The way this thread talks about the chain of lakes make it sound like the wild west. My one golf experience up there was Valley Ridge and being cut off on every hole by locals out playing for only a cart fee, the place was bananaland.

In my very personal experience: his behavior at local youth basketball games.

I played in the McHenry township league (with the colored t-shirts). At the end of the season, the township league picked 12 “all stars” to play an exhibition against the McHenry travelers, of which Steve was a booster or something. He was such an asshole towards our little band of misfits at this meaningless game that even my dad, who never says anything bad about anybody, remarked on his dickishness. It was 20 years ago, so I’m a little foggy on specifics, but having a guy in his 40’s make comments about how you suck at basketball doesn’t feel great, no matter how true it is.

I agree, let’s get the conversation flowing in the WhatsApp chat, probably better off to start planning now than later.

Not that far off honestly.

It was the wild west back in the prohibition days. Now it’s a weird mix of wealthy(but not Lake Geneva wealthy) a solid middle class and the very impoverished. Think one-bedroom once summer cabins in the 60s turned into a household for 5 people.

Omg I can hear randy and Neil completely losing it over either course conditions or the “clientele”. Also would love to see the Airbnb they find on the chain

Host taking them out on the chain after the money round.

Their only option for maritime vessel is a pontoon boat with no canopy on a hot July afternoon for the full Chain experience.

A buddy of mine is a manager out on the island. I’m guessing I could make an island meetup happen.

Gosh, I can’t think of a worse job. However, it’s probably a bit entertaining.

Hammered boomers during the day, coked out chain rats by night.
