Roll Call “Chicago” (Part 1)

Yeah, I play there 5 to 10 tens a year. Nice course and facility. Extremely difficult. Has good years and bad years for conditioning.

I would hesitate to call it anything more than really nice on it’s best seasons.

Really tough to get on the course?

Nah, if you want to get out there this spring send an email to Eileen that you are interested in becoming a member. She’ll get you 36 holes, but you’ll have to listen to the sales pitch.

If I lived 10-15 minutes closer, I would join there in a heartbeat. It’s super affordable for under 40.

Are there any other courses that are a must to check out? I live in Rockford and willing to travel

Not super familiar with Rockford, but I know their muni scene is really good.

Not straying too far away, Blackstone in Marengo. PrairieView in Byron. Staying on 90, Highlands of Elgin and Bowes Creek.

Sunday is looking halfway decent, as long as there isn’t too much rain on Saturday, with a high of 40.

Anyone interested in playing some of that game they call golf?

90 miles west of Chicago. We just had one of our courses close this year due to funding. Down to 2 and a 9 hole course.

I have played Blackstone and love PraireView. Need to try the other 2 out. I want to play Harborside next year too.

where you looking?

It is amazing. Pretty challenging. There’s one hole that has two big boobie mounds on it and I remember making a very lucky birdie on it. And I’m pretty sure you can call the shop to get on and play.

I didn’t have anything in mind just yet. I live in the Loop and don’t mind driving 30-45 to play.

not a dome but checkout The Golf House in Naperville. New place that has a lot going into it. I did links and tees last season for winter practice. Like the greens for putting and the mats are nice but it can get pricey if youre there a lot and not utilizing a membership with them.

Was big on White Pines (stingers at a yeti’s crotch followed by free popcorn and watching whatever tourney or Golf Channel show they had fired up), but with its closure, last year I moved to BG but plan on checking out Addison.

There’s one in Highland Park off of 41, next to Target. Nothing too special but it’s next to Target so your can drop the SO off there while you get some swings in

While not a dome, GolfCenter in Des Plaines has heated bays that do the job. It’s fun watching my slice travel through the snow

they weren’t ProV1’s… can’t recall exactly but way nicer than the crap i’m used to hitting at Diversey… relatively new Top Flights I think.

I have heard that Mistwood has bought the WhitePines dome and it will be open next winter.

Went to the Buffalo Grove dome today, you have to make an online reservation slot but they’re pretty laid back on the whole pre-screening thing. From my experience it seem like you have to reserve a slot 1-2 days in advance. $20 for an hour and you can use the putting green.

Lmao why did you make me watch this. I kind of love it. I grew up in Antioch aka the capital of the chain.

Then you definitely needed to see it.

I always think Fox Lake is the hub of the chain, but so much is Antioch Township it’s hard to argue.

That guy isn’t what the chain people are like at all lmao. The stories about his childhood were hilarious. I’m not sure if it was intended to be a parody or not.
