I actually kind of loved the quirk of Big Run…only holes out there I didn’t like/get were 1 and 9.
Damn near got home in 2 on 18, that tee shot was really fun down the hill.

I’ve got a rain check for 9 out there. Need to find out what the back 9 is like.
When I played, we waited out the rain after finishing the front 9. Lit up some cigars on the back nine. Overall, it was very gettable, but that last hole crushed me. My 7 felt like a par. Maybe I didn’t love 18 because of how wet it was so I got no run on anything.
Big Run was really fun though. And I agree 1 and 9 were the worst, but the rest was a ton of fun.
Oh that whole valley area down by 2, 11, 18 fairways is VERY spongy. Not a great draining area, and usually some burned out fairways down there.
I had the privilege of playing with a middle aged couple who seemed very well off and played A LOT of golf.
They shepherded me around and gave me some good pointers on the front 9.
to be fair, there was a lot of funny shit in that thread.
If you ever go back, I’d gladly shepherd you around the back nine. Shot my ass of on the back nine that day. Unsure if it was the tobacco or how soft the conditions were after the rain.
EDIT: Full 4some at the moment

Keeeeeeith. Don’t be like that.
I have 3 5 6 10 11 12 on the party list
K so I’m trying to put together my composite 18 for 2020…and here are just the Chicago courses I’ve played. Anything with a “1” means that hole is eligible in my eyes to make the rota.
For shits and giggles, I totaled up how many qualifying holes each course had, as well as where on most courses had solid golf holes.
Big excel guy here. For science.
Love the excel work here. (Coming from an accountant who built out a handicap index excel because I was too cheap to pay for one)
As you can tell, I am a big advocate of “Save time play 9” motto.

I think I know a guy that’s out there…
