Randy provides a pretty solid timeline and explanation in the first post here.

It has been a DAY here. I keep telling myself I won’t go back to those threads but it’s an absolute train wreck I can’t look away from.

Can someone also explain who “Nandy” was/is?Was that some dipshit who got banned from the Refuge? Is that this Aannddyy character?

I literally only keep track of this thread and the merch thread.

From my understanding he is just an absolute shit stirrer with multiple burner accounts.

I don’t closely follow a lot of threads but have run across his name quite a bit.

Edit: Allegedly

Went down the rabbit hole too, tagged folks in Randy’s post have replied on other threads if you must. Incident and fallout brought about what I assume were simmering pain points.

Anyways, look forward to seeing all again this winter when we hit the Chicago weather lottery. Think I owe @Setwilli a few bevs.

@BabblingBrooksKoepka good go at the NIT?

Nandy is a manchild who posted at an almost inhuman rate. Loser of the first ever Duel. He doxxed someone and got banned for a while. He’s unbanned, but rarely posts anymore. Aannddyy is the current most prolific poster and bit of a troll. Lost the Prez race to DBD and is still butthurt about it.

Scorekeeping was super loose. In the final regulation round someone, who apparently has a bit of a rep for “forgetting his score”, allegedly gave himself some favorable scores. His defense is that he has MS and that his medication causes short-term memory loss. Knowing the guy, he was local until COVID, I am inclined to believe him/give him the benefit of the doubt.

The only reason it is relevant is that his “team” beat all the other teams and they get $50 shop credit (shoutout CPG) and a weekend at the Sweetens Birdhouse (but they won by such a large margin that it wouldn’t have mattered anyways).

For sure! I didn’t play my best golf by any means but it was an absolute blast to be down there. I think I did well to rep the Chicago crew through vibrant personality and amount of complimentary Fat Tires consumed, however. I actually played in the 5-some with Mark and Jared on Saturday morning, which is about the only reason I’ve stayed invested in these threads from the past few days.

I did write a (much more positive) little post in the original NIT thread about my experience if anyone cares to read it. The whole weekend was amazing and I was thrilled to be a part of it. Looking forward to getting to know all the guis in here better in the near future, as well.

Thanks for the insight.

Seems like lots of people thought a glorified golf outing with high travel, lodging, COVID infection chance, and entrance fees was a pro event.

Eh, not too many. Maybe 2 or 3 have gotten a little worked up over it. But it seems like one of those things where someone thought they’d make a passive aggressive thread and it would be funny. Never realizing how it would spiral out of control into full-on middle school drama until it was too late.

It sucks that this has soured so many’s view of the NIT. It was a delightful event.

COVID risk, ugh, yeah, tell me about it. Not the most responsible move I’ve made in my life tbh. More than fair to roast us for that.

The internet sucks.

In other shitty news:
https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/daily-southtown/ct-sta-homewood-logistics-park-st-1113-20201112-j4buk7rf2jahxjnemadz4ssq6u-story.html

This is disappointing. What I consider to be one of the best three hole stretches in Chicagoland (that I’ve played, 4-6) being turned into a logistics complex is quite frustrating. It’s a bummer CCC couldn’t figure it out after the writing was on the wall. While Ravi has also taken hits with their pace of play I can’t help but think CCC 2020 rates were too little too late even with C19 restrictions. This place could’ve been a sanctuary on the Southside.

Thank you for your service.

Masters on the big TV in the basement, half day of school, literally just playing Among Us with the kids since classes are 20 minutes, 11:30am tee time.

Decent Friday.

Thorough and enjoying post, as yours tend to be.

I didn’t even consider talking the wife in to going with, and maybe a twinge of regret (eh, she probably would’ve vetoed me still). Glad your gf went and joined the fun.

I had White Oak as an option when planning an '18 group trip to Jax but didn’t pull the trigger, and I really wanted to not tell the guys about the proximity to wild life and surprise the crew. How close were the rhinos?

Thanks man - I was glad to have her with me the first night and even more glad when she came and snagged the keys and car for me after I finished up round three .

White Oak was great - we had the whole course to ourselves. They have nine greens but 18 distinct teeing areas, so it’s not too repetetive to play twice. Perfectly manicured. I misguidedly thought I’d be literally hitting golf shots with rhinos, giraffes, etc. walking around. I now realize this would be incredibly dangerous - for both myself and for the animals given some of the ballflights I saw out there. Instead, I signed up for a little guided tour around the property after the golf.

Alright I am playing Starboard tomorrow. Putting you theory of the closing 6 holes on Starboard to the test!

While I’m thinking about it…the last hole at Harborside Port isn’t NEARLY as bad as the 14-16 stretch at Ruffled Feathers. Yeesh…

Looking forward to it. Hoping the wind and stays away long enough to have a decent shot a good score.

How about the final hole at Big Run? I walked that this year and barely made it up the hill on the last one.
