Thanks for the info on Metro. Was thinking of playing on Monday, but will pass if the greens were just punched.
I vividly remember in college many many moons ago, a teammate went to play the Bridges and he came back traumatized. I guess back then at least, you couldn’t hit any fairways. They would just roll off into completely dead zones.
They weren’t terrible. It was still fairly playable
Playing metro this afternoon, I’ll post an update on the greens. Also fwiw: Boundary Oak is in great shape (raised cups, putting green and range both open). Also, Northwood sent an update and reiterated Sonoma county residents only and they’re enforcing it.
Thanks…our Northwood outing next Sat looks to be in doubt. Only one Sonoma resident in the group.
Bummer…it’ll make it even sweeter when we can get on up there
First walk around the Gleneagles nine in SF. Greens are in good condition and the fairways are…fair. Although I have to say I felt the rub of the green quite a bit as my v good day OTT always seemed to find a patch of crabgrass or sand. There are not many easy shots out there in a swirling wind on the side of a hill. But def enjoyable round with my partial set of Mizuno classic irons. I’m glad they were able to survive the shut down and look fwd to being able to enjoy the 19th hole someday.
Metro greens still pretty bumpy but good vibe out there. Wind was steady all day, downwind birdie-birdie finish best thing to happen to me in weeks lol
Apparently they softened the course a few years after they opened because it was too tough. It still is a challenge. I played there last probably 6 years back.
I played Bridges once, about fifteen years ago. Never wanted to go back. Good to hear that they made some changes.
Hope you Bay Area weenies enjoyed the fog filled day yesterday in the Bay. It was a lovely 96 degrees in the Central Valley, perfect for a quick 18 hole stroll. I think I lost 10 lbs in fluids.
Was beautiful in East Bay yesterday. Friend of mine drove down to Pebble Beach with his son, teed off at 7:20 and finished in 4 hours. Based on the pictures, they had a nice overcast morning. No Lodge stay requirement.
@anon47037505 @leric90 and I were there Saturday just after your friend. Was great!
I booked Spyglass on a whim for this Saturday. Northern CA Golf members get 40% off in the month of May (Pebble is 22% off)
Very nice. What’s the cost?
Baylands to reopen on Wednesday with single individual play only (play alone - not paired up). Curious to see what the pace of play is with that system.
Mine was $250 which seems like a steal
Great looking out. Have been checking their site twice a day. Just nabbed Thursday night and Saturday morning.
Course Updates shared from friends.
- One played at Shoreline and mentioned that it’s also Singles. He and his group of friends all booked back to back with each other and ended up in a social distance merged quad.
- Another group of played Presidio in a Foursome.
Anyone do club building on the side can recommend anyone that is available right now during the SIP? I picked up a shaft and I need a new tip installed. I’d love to be able to test it out and now have it sit around unused.
Nice! I was there on last Friday too. I started in the afternoon. Can attest to the same conditions. The rough was a wild place to be if you got caught in there. Slow greens as well, but otherwise a fantastic day!
