Roll Call: Bay Area Golfers

Not a golf trip, but my wife and I did a trip to Monterrey 2 years ago. Stayed in downtown Monterrey. Played Pasatiempo and Pacific Grove.

In that case we need OP to play Lincoln Park, Sharp Park, and Poplar Creek

Canyon Lakes and The Bridges would make for a special 36 hole day too.

I would absolutely second Poppy.

These two might take the cake for worst pair of golf courses that border each other.

Everyone always hates on The Bridges but Canyon Lakes is a disaster too

The Bridges is a design disaster, but the conditions are typically good. Canyon Lakes is a design disaster with poor conditions.

I’m playing the bridges tomorrow. Subjecting my dad and his buddy to it as well. Can’t wait. Canyon lakes is fun enough if it’s baked out in the summer.

Enjoy! I do want to get back out there just to see if it’s as hard as I remember.

That’s where my head is at. I’ve only played it one time before and I didn’t hate it but it was a tough round of golf for sure.

O/u 10.5 balls lost per player

They apparently have softened it up so that if you miss the dead center of the fairway your ball doesn’t roll into the canyon on the right. Or the canyon on the left.

I don’t know because I staunchly refuse to go back.

I’ll have to report back later.

Anyone else sign up for the preview play days at Corica North later this month before the grand opening? I’ll be there 3/25 playing with a buddy.

Bridges was one of the first courses I played in the bay area. I didnt have a good time. A few years later I convinced myself that it couldn’t be as bad as I remembered and I just was such a a wild driver at the time it had to be better.

It was not better

The very last time I went there I wasn’t playing well. I lost 11 golf balls AND a Harding Park blade putter cover that I absolutely loved and isn’t made anymore. Roughly speaking that was about an extra $90-100 in cost in addition to the already high greens fee. That round had more penalty strokes alone than the next five rounds I played, if memory serves.

Lost 5 balls. The course seemed like it was playing fair, not many unreasonable bad results from good shots thankfully! Really only blew up on the 5 holes I lost a ball on. Probably because it rained a little this week the course was playing easier.

So @CalvinC and I are going to be in San Jose April 24th through the 28th. We were planning to try to get out to Pasa, but looks like they are punching the 23rd :frowning: but we are going to drive up and play Northwood one day.

Anyone want to get out and play while we’re there?

Played Salinas Fairways for the first time in probably 15 years. Completely forgot about this beauty

@Randy would be proud.

Also, teed off at 12:15 today (Saturday) and was in my car by 3:30 :zap::zap::zap:

cc @GremlinGolfer I think we talked about fairways at one point. It’s such a solid muni. That stretch of 13-18 back into the wind is an absolute beast

playing around past the airport in the back when its hot and windy makes you feel like it could be west texas. Such a solid course for what it is. also cold beers are (were?) very affordable afterwards
