Off topic but, anyone have any favorite spots around Jack London Sq or The Fox for preshow dinner/drinks? Hitting a show at the Fox tonight, haven’t been over there in 5-6yrs.

Viridian is a very cool spot with great drinks and small plates. Looks like a 8-10 minute walk to the Fox. Highly recommend.

Left Bank Brassiere at Jack London Square is the shit if you want a nice dinner and cocktails. Legit French cuisine.

Anywhere for burritos.
My buddy (excellent golfer) just opened a bar near the Fox called “Theory.” About a block and a half away. I have not been able to get over there yet but have several friends who have and said it’s great.

Hello Bay Area Folks!
I am coming into town on Wednesday evening from Minnesota for a job interview at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory over in Livermore, CA. I interview on Thursday morning then have the afternoon and following morning to explore the area, check out housing options (Tracy is looking like a decent option price-wise?), etc. Anything in particular I should try and see, or any places I should try and eat?
Don’t think I will be bringing my clubs this time around but I see Poppy Ridge isn’t the most highly thought of course nearby. Are there decent public options around? If we end up taking the plunge and moving, is there a contingent of golfers in the area?
I appreciate any insight for an out-of-towner!

Welcome and good luck!! They are building literally hundreds of homes in Tracy Hills community.
Poppy Ridge has always been bad but is going thru some work and all reports are it’s going to be good. Wente Vineyards is a popular spot for the views and layout. Las Positas in Livermore is a solid 18 hole track with a cute little par 3 course.

Poppy Ridge only has a “composite” 9 available currently though it’s a decently fun short course. I’m excited to see what they have completed for the new 18 sometime next spring/summer. Agreed with @GremlinGolfer Las Positas is right here in Livermore as well and a decent 18 hole option, though with the recent rain it might be pretty soft out there currently.
San Ramon GC, Dublin Ranch, Wente are all in the immediate area as well.
Livermore downtown has some decent restaurants and shops as well. Range Life is a favorite of my wife and I.
