Ocean course over Old.
Check weather for fog if you are playing both. Try and schedule around that.
Green Hills is close. Private but I believe some folks on here are members. Anyone up for showing a @scottsimonsays a good time?

Really? Went to school at Cap but have never played that course. To be honest, wasn’t really a golfer in high school and didn’t know the course was there.
It’s an Alistair MacKenzie. Tough and fun. Played it with @3jackbirdie via a Golf Moose special. Very fun even if it needs modern drainage. Don’t know any members here, sadly.
I feel I should follow up on this- I called back and was transferred to the golf shop for The Hay (not sure there is one?) and spoke to a very kind lady named Julie.
She was able to change our reservation to add my son back on as a junior with a note to change the price to YOC day of.
She said that Booking doesn’t always understand the nuances and while it is true that the Youth on Course policy is to book just one day in advance, they make exceptions for those rounds booked with paying adults.
So, in the end, a big Yeah to Pebble Beach. Can’t wait to be there next week.
I know this is a hilarious ask but I’m going to be in SF for work August 14-17. Was planning on playing Harding Park and Presidio before leaving town.
Does anyone have an on at Olympic Club? It’s always been towards the top of my wish list and figured I’d at least post the question.
Traveling to SF next week for work and planning on playing TPC Harding Park. Is it good to walk, or should I get a cart?
Very pleasant walk. Would absolutely ditch the cart
absolutely walk. you may take more steps via cartpath only if you do take a cart
The lake course has been closed for renovation since last November but I at minimum can have you out on the par 3 cliffs course for a twilight loop or two and if I can sneak out of work can probably do our other 18 hole course.
Kudos for offering, Shane. Throwing in a quick shoutout for my guy @alexshreff. He’s good people if anyone can make it out to play with him.
I indeed will be working those days, unfortunately.
Group of 8 guys from Iowa are heading to San Francisco August 16-20.
Wednesday: Presidio
Thursday: Half Moon Bay (both courses)
Friday: Pasatiempo (may cancel and find somewhere else since only the back 9 is open)
Saturday: TPC Harding Park (may add the fleming 9 as well)
Were hoping to walk at least one round, and thinking either presidio or Harding, any thoughts on which would be the better walk?
Also, thouhgts on if we play Pasa back 9 twice, or look elsewhere? That is the only tee time we havent booked yet, however they still have openings the day were planning to play it. Any suggestions on where to play if we cancel Pasa? We thought about making the drive to Pacific Grove or Cinnibar Hills.
Any info or insight would be greatly appreciated!
Looping the back nine of pasa twice will be the best 18 you play. Potentially all year
Harding Park is an easier walk than Presidio, if that matters. But most of us walk both. Don’t see a lot of carts out at either.
Concur with @Kornwhalice - you won’t regret looping the back 9 at Pasa twice. It’s magical. The back 9 at Pacific Grove is fantastic but the front 9 is just meh, so I think you’d enjoy the experience of playing the back at Pasa twice more than that.
Do you know if either Harding or Presidio offer push cart rentals? I know at least a 2 of the guys in our group are hoping thats an option.
Harding does for sure. I’m not certain about Presidio. @Shane @fullbodyfix do you know if Presidio has rental push carts?
@cmaherw they do. They’re technically pull carts but they have them available.
I’ve got a wedding in wine country next year and will likely stretch out the trip a few days for some hiking, golf, and drinking. The wedding itself is outside Santa Rosa so I’ll likely base myself there. As far as golf goes, Northwood seems like an obvious choice. A quick look around google maps made Bodega Harbor and Sea Ranch look like fun options for golf near the ocean. Any local knowledge on those courses or something else I should check out?
Do you know where you’re flying into?
I’ll likely need to connect regardless, so STS if the price isn’t too crazy. SFO otherwise.
I live in SR; feel free to PM me if you need lodging/restaurant/winery recs.
