Roll Call: Bay Area Golfers

Hello All, just signed up for the Nest. I live in Carmel and I’m a dukes club member down here but willing to play anywhere and go to Bay Area for work all the time.

I had to make the move down here after living in Berk/SF/Sausalito for the last 15 years. Looking forward to meeting and playing with you all. Let me know if anyone lives down in Monterey Peninsula and we can get some rounds in. Got a good group of guys down here that play often, all good guys.

Showing full, but there will be drop outs most likely.

As an aside, I really need to check Spyglass off the list one of the days… :grinning:

On a similar note, I’m hanging out on Monterey peninsula for the next 6-8 months or so. I’d love to get out with some of y’all when I have time

Played there right before the storms, place is magic. I’ll keep my eye on the Poppy outing, thank you for sending over.

Looking forward to playing Spyglass.

Welcome, just seeing your post, but I am way in on this as well. I have been planning on making a trip to Pasa before the renovation!

@searanch and myself are looking at getting a round at either Metro or Monarch for his quota round, next Saturday. Neither of us have played either course before and we need some expert recommendation for course quality, and more importantly, conditties in the wake of these storms.

We will also need 2 more to join us…

I always felt like metropolitan’s greens fared better with rain. Played last Monday and they were good. Should even better after a dry week.

The only unplayable part were the bunkers full of water. But they were sump pumping them. Imagine it should be good.

Morning y’all, I have my four tickets to today’s San Francisco Dons men’s basketball game against BYU at 5 PM. Game days are pretty intense, but feel free to hit me up in a DM. Simple as transferring tickets to your email. Seats are good… For those unaware I work there.

Anyone want to join me at Pasatiempo this Thursday (1/26) at around 12:30? $195 walking (public rate is $345)

Have people confirmed to this yet? Is it just 1 spot open? I’m pretty sure I can make this work, I just need to move a few things around. I’ll know by tomorrow around midday.

See you there because I booked that exact tee time months ago.

Just a warning: I played Pasa yesterday and it was by far the soggiest I’ve ever seen it. Not getting much roll on the fairways and approaches. The greens are running fairly smooth though definitely the slowest that I’ve seen (that said, the greens there are probably too fast on most days so this might be how fast they should be!).

However, the biggest problem is that the rough hasn’t been cut in a long long time. It’s crazy US Open 6" rough right now (and I might be underselling it). You hit it in there and there’s a 1 in 3 chance that you’ll never find it, and if you do manage to locate your ball, it’s a total sand wedge hack out job in a lot of cases. Not much recovery fun in that.

Hopefully sometime between now and your tee time things will dry out enough to give them a chance to run the mowers. The weather forecast is about as good as it can be for the course to recover, so I’d be optimistic that you won’t have the same problem. You might want to chat with the pro shop to double check if it matters to you.
