have an open tee time tomorrow morning (8:40) at haggin oaks in sac if anyone cares to join.
Choice. Oneround poppy and one round pac g.
vs. two rounds pasa.
two pasa
this
Also if you want a change of scenery instead of playing Pasa twice, you could play Delaveaga for your second round. Fun golf course.
You want to talk “tight,… tight… piece of property”. De La Veaga delivers.
Yep.
Or you can go down the road to Seascape, which may just be even tighter.
Need more parameters… pound for pound… or money no object?
I mean as much as I love PG (I love PG) and Poppy is great, and having not played Pasa, this is a bit like saying 2 rounds absolute world class special memory golf course vs. 2 rounds of ok to great golf.
If I had to mention a different option, I would do one round Pasa and one PG.
I honestly don’t think you can go wrong but it more depends on if you want some variety in courses and scenery then go with PG and Poppy. Otherwise pasa is obviously am amazing track and I know I would have an absolute blast playing it back to back. I would say you’re in a good place if this is the hardest decision you need to make.
I like, actually, doing Poppy and Pasa. I think Poppy Hills is criminally underrated. Pacific Grove is awesome but those other two are true class.
Fair enough. Poppy is definitely the nicer course. I don’t think you can go wrong in this scenario except it you don’t play Pasa at least once.
Playing some golf under the lights at Mariner’s Point Saturday eve at 7:10pm. Have two spots open. LMK if anyone wants to join.
I accept the recommendations.
Had to chime in, I used to work in South SF and would play after work with some coworkers there. It’s been easily 5-6 years, but one of these days I plan to check it out again. Golf under the lights is pretty fun, and surprising there aren’t more spots in the Bay Area for it.
Yeah if you can get the times to work, you should be able to do Pasatiempo and then drive down to Monterey (or vice versa). Its only a 1hr drive.
To @greebs point, I think Poppy is the better golf course, while Pac Grove is super unique/cool, and has a cult following.
Edit: I’m assuming you’re doing it soon when days are still pretty long.
Am gonna try to fit them all in, but may run out of steam.
Talking September for this.

What up y’all, I’m going to be in the area for a wedding in Tahoe from September 29 to October 6th. It will be my first time back since moving from the area in the beginning of 2018. I lived there for about 3 years and really got bit by the golf bug while living there. I lived in various places in the east bay Oakland before moving back home (Indiana) with my now wife. While I got around to many courses in the area, there are two that I absolutely HAVE to get to.
My biggest regret was not playing pasa. I spent a handful of weekends in Santa Cruz, but never for golf and since moving back I’ve been itching. Definite no brainer to play there and if there’s only one round I can play it will be here.
For 2 years I lived 5 minutes from Corica park and it had a big impact on me getting into the game. The access to the lighted range and the par 3 course we’re excellent, however the entirety of the time I played there the south course was closed for renovations. I beat the north course to death, but am excited to see how the south course turned out. Definitely interested in some reviews from the locals on this one.
Might be able to sneak in a third round if anyone has the time. I’ll have a better idea of when and where I’ll be playing as the time grows nearer, but looking forward to potentially linking with a refuge member or two. Definitely wish the refuge was around when I lived there.
