yeah the added bonus of it being 17 really makes it stink. no time to come back from whatever disaster you walk off the green with, since 18 is a tough (but good!) finisher
Tee time Friday at 2:50 @riverside. 2 spots left if anyone wants to join @SaveMuny and myself! Walking rate is chef’s kiss. Go book it if you want to join!
Anyone up for a game tomorrow? lol
Username definitely checks out
Hey friends. Hope all y’all are doing okay and staying warm in this weird time. Thought I’d share this pic I took of the 5th green at Mo Willie today while walking to the store. They’re rollin slow!
Looks playable.
No power here in 78735 since Monday 2am. Left for a friend’s house in satx, he lives near a fire station so they have been left alone. Stay safe all
If you are out on the roads this morning, we need to be telling you to stay safe.
Take it slow.
Left yesterday afternoon while the roads were decent-ish. Wouldn’t do it right now at all
I live on an sloped road, and my wife and I have taken up station at the front windows watching guys in lifted trucks get stuck trying to come up.
Do people in Austin participate in any leagues or anything like that? Now that the weather has returned was looking to get involved in more serious golfing. Wasnt sure if there was a tourney list I should have an eye on or anything like that. Appreciate the insight.
I have played in the Golf Fellowship. It started in San Antonio. Guy who organizes it is a great dude.
9-hole night matches. With 18 hole weekend things.
The problem is not so much the league but the courses. That is an Austin problem (looking at you Riverplace).
Not a league, but trying to qualify for the Firecracker Open around 4th of July is always interesting. Need to shoot below 75 to qualify.
Good looks appreciate it will check out the Fellowship. Will try to have the game polished up by the Firecracker.
I’m part of the organizing committee for The Fellowship, have enjoyed it a lot and backup all that @savemuny has said.
Austin courses get funky with distance and trying to get leagues scheduled so it’s a bit tough, but we’ve got chapters in ATX, DFW, SA, and Houston and if you decide you can go and play events in other cities as well, which is a nice bonus.
Happy to answer any other questions you’ve got about it!
The Quarry and Brack alone give SA a big leg up on Austin courses. Wish I could play Brack.
@cgroom, it takes a big man from Atx to say that SA is superior in any regard, and I am that big man.
I’m a big fan of TGF. Easily the best run league I’ve ever seen. Solid folks behind it!
Anybody play Mo Willy post Snovid? The greens are absolutely wrecked at the moment, its pocked with poa like an acne-ridden teenager’s face. Putting on the greens today felt like playing pinball. Tough scene.
I was looking at SparkGolf, they have weekly leagues at a few courses. Anyone have insight on that?
I knew the COVID bliss of their “good” greens would be temporary. Sounds like they’re back to normal, which is a tough scene.
Are all the munis similarly destroyed?
