Feel like half of our Roost is going to Bill Hassel out at Cartersville CC.
Based on context clues, you could consider working on your putting ![]()
@Slainte lol my username says it all. I’m a disgrace. But in January I adopted the claw grip. Early phases of the project are showing promise and I feel poised to master the art of the 2 putt in due time
Thank you for the recommendations guys. My brother just got fitted for some irons by Pete Webber at Cartersville CC and it was a great experience. I wouldn’t mind heading back up there for a lesson.
Yeah Pete Weber is also who most of us recommend for fitting haha . Ill be doing irons with him in the next couple of weeks
Yeah I saw your recommendation to go to Pete a couple weeks ago on this thread. It was a great recommendation, that guy was the man.
Second Jason. Probably much more convenient than other options.
Greetings Atlantians
Got a job interview coming up for a role in the area. Would require relocating to the area. Figuring out how I feel about that.
So I must know all about the golf. Specifically south side of ATL. Company is located essentially at the airport. I am not quite a city boy so it would be quite the change. Not sure if commuting everyday from the Northside of the city would be fun, but seems the golf is better that way.
Any thoughts? Would love to join a CC but not sure if it’s even affordable.
I’ll host you for a round at my club if you bring some RH prototypes with you.
That could be arranged. Unfortunately, losing my job has made funding mad scientist irons a little more difficult.
For the moment. The dream never dies.
Our roost plays all around the metro. Getting on 285 loop near the airport can get you everywhere pretty easily.
I can’t stress this enough - traffic is brutal! Finding the right commute is essential. I think @Tron has shared it before - great private / terrible public!
Let us know what you see that you like, happy to provide feedback.
You’ll get a lot of recs about where to live with that commute, just depends budget, willingness to sit in traffic, and what you like to do in your free time.
@carrybagswag if you wanna PM me, happy to chat about locations and shit to do etc.
By the way, living in the west side in smryna, it’s 30 mins to the airport in the AM and we still have reasonable value and great safety in this part of town.
I’ll take you up on that if things progress like I think they should.
Definitely gonna be chilling in the burbs. Have played Bobby Jones course. My only real stop locally so far.
A lot of delta employees live in the Peachtree City area. Tons of club corps down there and easy enough commute to the airport if you don’t want to truly be in the city. Best golf south of the city is to drive to the fields in Lagrange. Traffic sucks. Public transportation is nonexistent but hey welcome to Atlanta. We’ve got a good group of guys that rotate around. Browns mill is the best bang for the buck near the airport. There’s also a 9 hole course right next to the airport but I haven’t been there in quite awhile.
Always happy to host you up at Standard Club in Johns Creek as well. Feel free to ask anything more specific
Yeah, Smyrna would be my vote to still feel like you can get the actual good parts of Atlanta. This is Atlanta, everything is 30-45 minutes away during rush hour. Best private course near Smyrna, that’s not ridiculous initiation, is prob Pinetree.
Complete disrespect to dogwood.
Hey I said private! Dogwood is fun tho
It’s semi. Their membership is actually super affordable
