Echelon is solid. Depending when you are in town, I am happy to host you two at my club (Rivermont). Just let me know!
A friend (@LoganKrawchyk) and I are fortunate enough to be going to a Master’s practice round this year (Tuesday) and we are looking to get some golf in during the trip. Tentatively planning to fly into Atlanta, stay around there a day or 2 and stay somewhere around/outside Augusta a day or 2. Open to suggestion here.
Any recommendations on courses to check out around Atlanta, Augusta, in between? Not sure if people swarm the courses doing the same thing we are doing - any advice is appreciated. We’d love to play with fellow nesters as well.
In the Augusta are you have to go check out Aiken Golf Club.
Aiken is about 20-30 min north of Augusta in South Carolina.
It is one of my all time favorite tracks.
Adding on the Augusta area forest hills is a great track. Not sure what they do around masters time. @Paden could answer more to that.
As far as the Atlanta area - browns mill is the go to muni. If the dates and times work I’d be happy to host you at the standard club in johns creek.
As for golf you will be paying a premium to play any of the local courses that week but I will say home course has not been super busy during masters week since Covid. In Augusta we have 2 breweries Savannah river and Riverwatch. Savannah is the better of the 2 imo but both will be relatively busy as they host different events that week. If you want to get deep in the weeds on this the Masters travel planning thread is very extensive.
I just discovered that Forest Hills has a typical rate of $50 but during Master’s week it’s $250…
Yeah. Thats typical of everything in augusta that week.
If you stay around the airport there is alway the fields golf club if you like a food routing and solid vibe. Not the most manicured course but greens is always great. Cherokee run could be an option but they, I assume, have an increased rate over the masters. Reynolds plantation might be booked and have to stay on property but that is another option.

Hell yea man! Welcome… we have a few fresh new dads (I’m on a day 5 myself), but always have people getting out and playing etc. Make sure to join our discord. We are all pretty active in there.
Congrats, I am 10 weeks in. Just joined the discord.
Greetings ATL crew. Anyone with any intel on whether PGA Superstore has the “old” Prov1s on sale today, assuming they’ve got the new ones in stock on the shelves?
Question about Sweetens. Yes, ive done the whole dog and pony show there.
For upcoming dates (such as this weekend) ive noticed that passes/spots open up 3-7 days before. I assume this is from shitheads taking all the times when they release and then backing out cause they have no friends.
Is this something that is pretty common? Im trying to slide in there with a 4some on a Friday in March and seeing how to place this bet.
Very common. 4 passes in march on a Friday may be hard to come by but you can usually check the week of each day.
super common, but hoping that 4 will be available feels like a stretch. very easy for 1, maybe 2 passes to open up.
Gotcha, i see 7 open for tomorrow and there were 6 open for today. Weather looks fine.
But yea I understand that March is a different animal.
I think the play is to line up a time at a nearby course the next day, get a one nighter vrbo, and hope it comes through. Maybe grease Adamski for a spot.
It was about 20 overnight in Chattanooga. Probably didn’t tee off till 10 am today and close to same tomorrow which is where a lot of the cancels probably came from
just gonna let my dudes believe its possible so we can play Chatt CC and/or Black Creek.
Coming to Atlanta for work in mid-March for about a week. Schedule will be slightly odd but I think I can fit in a new driver fitting.
Did some scanning of this chat and saw some good recommendations from 2020 but know things change. So are there any must go to fitters in the Atlanta area?
Pete Webber at True Spec North GA (its in Cartersville) - best fitter in the state imo. The True Spec in Buckhead is cool too, but with Pete’s background in the development of trackman, it’s just a totally different fitting experience. I also like that the North GA location you are hitting from bay to outside, where as the Buckhead version is fully indoor. If you are looking to play a round, let me know!
