Roll Call: Atlanta - Players Ball 12/13 - Campout 3/15 - Stankonia 6/7

It most definitely does. Two yards short in the water. Two yards long and your next chip is rolling back down into the water. The slope of the green towards the water is probably my biggest issue with the hole.

So not bad hole, just penal

It’s a long iron to fairway metal off the tee over the left tree and a short iron at most into a shallow green. It’s asks a question, can you hit the appropriate distance with your second.

Don’t hit the cart path, there’s 80 yards left of that.

Cart path runs behind the green, maybe 5-8 yards long. Sure, it’s on the right too, like most holes everywhere, so hit the fairway.

It’s definitely fun to watch balls go long from a downhill lie and ricochet OB, but is it good? The cart path effectively moves the OB even closer to the green, because if you hit it, bye bye.

If cart path proximity to green (and OB) isn’t a discussable factor in what makes a hole good or bad, I dunno what does. :man_shrugging:t2:

(Is there another hole around that has a cart path run that close to a shallow green and OB? 11th at The Fields might be the shining template of this architectural style.)

If you take the proper line off the tee and use the slope in fairway, its a wedge. There’s a backstop between back of green and cart path that will feed ball back on green or back fringe and no one says you have to hit it at the pin if its tucked on that right side, then again its a wedge – fields in general is great architecture if its firm and fast and you can use the slopes and angles. Played it slow and wet and that’s pretty boring golf agreed, howeva when firm and fast and lots of options off tees and into greens (plenty of run ups if you want) its REALLY fun and good.

#9 from the blues is also absurd

Absurd because it plays long into the wind?

Yea. With the tall grass on the right, you have to hit it left or else it’s going to be near impossible to hit the green. The front is also protected by a bunker so you have to fly it.

I’m not saying it’s bad but it’s super hard if you play a cut.

theres no high stuff on right, its all left right?

Yeah only left, trees and run off to the first hole fairway.

Most players get a stroke so bogey isn’t bad.

This from a few years ago. Maybe I’m misremembering. I won’t be playing from those tees again so it’s moot.

That is right side if your orientation is from green to tee :sunglasses:
