Welp, my SS recipient may have been s.o.l today due to big blue’s logistics issues however my gift did arrive as promised from big brown. Unlike Tom and Vaughn above I have the patience of a 5 year old so busted into it about 15 seconds after it hit the porch.
@Nickygifts killed it, as would be expected of a guy with his style and class. Hopefully the boys will notice his patronage of a podcast sponsor, looking forward to diving into that bottle over the holidays (who am I kidding, might have to sample some tonight). Proud to rep #TeamHaywood alongside Nicky in his duel against Wilson & @anon3021505. Thanks again my dude!
Also, if this gets a discussion going about the cat’s pant-hemming choices from the early 2000s, I wouldn’t be mad. I think Rory could fit one of those cuffs around his waist.
My Secret Santa hit it out of the park. First up is an NC hat in Purple and Gold (my alma mater, ECUs colors), 2nd is a shirt that I REALLY needed (I’d been meaning to pick one up). Most importantly, Santa sent a really nice and heartfelt note.
That makes me even happier to know it was you! Thanks so much bud, hopefully I can provide you my book report of the Company in person sometime next year.
Happy holidays to you and and the fam, especially my little bud Max!
I ordered a sweater 12 days before the Mistletoe Masters from a major online store. Paid for 2 day delivery. It has yet to even ping on tracking despite an anticipated delivery date of 12/7.
Do we invest in a mail delivery system, or blow it up and rethink it?
The fact that volume is insane right now doesn’t help, I know, but this has happened time and time again regardless of time of year.
I have had a package that has been lost in the ether of UPS for 2 weeks. They update tracking every so often when it shows up at another facility, but at this point, I’m certain I’m never getting it. My YOTB sweatshirt went from being in the city I live marked as “out for delivery” to, essentially, “no idea where it is, my friend, good luck, it might show up” by my friends at USPS. I have a customer who’s order went FedEx and paid for overnight. We are on day 9.
None of them have been getting it right more often than normal this year and I keep telling myself that this is going to be okay, but it’s getting more and more aggravating that all of the main shippers currently have packages of mine in their system with zero idea where they are or when they will arrive.
I have the upmost respect for the delivery services. I saw Amazon Prime in our neighborhood at 6 am today and USPS has been delivering well into the evening. Every year during the holidays they grind.
It’s just shocking that over the last decade online sales are taking over the industry and more packages ship every year, but what have these companies been doing to overall their processes to allow for peak times. It’s not great that Amazon is putting the UPS, FedEX and USPS to shame with their efficiency. I did some independent contracting for UPS back in 2016 around the holidays. Great way to make some extra cash. Just feels like there are opportunities to boost output during busy times.
