To all - adding that to my calendar, I realize that’s giving folks “just” three weeks to read this. Is that enough? I hope so, but shout if we need more time.

I think I’ll jump in this go around. Looks like a fun read.

Started it yesterday and am racing through it. It’s a good read.

And indeed I’ve finished it and look forward to talking it out. We used to always cast the movie of the books we’ve read - I cannot believe this WONT be made into a movie or series. So get on your casting hats!

Interested to see where it goes. I’m 50 pages in and I’m finding it to be dragging a little. Really struggling to get flying through it. Hoping it gets better!

Heads up that I may end up missing this one as we have an evening college/gap year program thing with the kid. Not 100% sure if we are going or not so still a chance I can make it

Finished the book last week. Definitely in the camp of something I wouldn’t have picked up on my own and glad I did. Looking forward to the discussion.

Local library didn’t have Dark Wire available, but I’m definitely interested in joining book club

Who’s doing the zoom, what time tomorrow?

Time has traditionally remained 6 pm PST / 9 EST which seems to cover everybody.

@mcdonart22 — Not sure if Ryan is able to set us up this run?

Seems like attendance might be on the lighter end, but hopefully a solid discussion just the same.

Hoping to make it tonight but have a dinner to attend so not sure if it will be in the cards. Fingers crossed.

If I may throw a book in the ring for a future book club: Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar. National Book Award finalist and highly recommended by several people (and recently came out in paperback). I picked it up a few weeks ago but haven’t started it yet.

Sorry to have missed the conversation. For the record I had Pedro Pascal cast in several roles because he’s awesome and I have a lack of imagination.

I’m for sure into Martyr! That and James are quite high on my list to read.

Just secured a copy of Martyr! from a local store  the local library system had me at 45th in the queue for 7 total copies :eyes:

Speaks well for a popular selection and kudos for the local book shop support!!

Was a rare “three book club” week last week, with great discussions of James and Intermezzo with my other groups. Excited for Martyr

Picked up Martyr! this afternoon and had a humourous exchange with the person behind the counter:

Shopkeeper: Phone number?
Me: [redacted]
SK: Oh! Yes. One of my favorite books ever! Is this for a book group?
Me: Uhh, yeah, actually.
SK: Oh fun. Is it open to anyone? Where is it?
Me: Well, it’s online, but technically yeah it’s open. It’s a little weird though, because I know everyone in it through golf…
SK: Oh! Ha. Yeah, that is a little weird.
