I will show up at/around 7pm and hope you all are still going. It’s all good. 1st world problems of too many parties to go to.

Split the difference with 6:30 seems to be the way to go. Hopefully @BeenMacKenzied will be able to jump in for some time after he’s indulged in plenty of great wine

I did skip the wine class for Overstory book club last conflict. It’s been a struggle.

Hey all, it is bedtime for this kid as I’m exhausted from work and staying up to watch the fiery car crash of a debate last night (and psychologically still scarred). If there is any post-Zoom call chatter back here on the Refuge I will add my two cents.
Have fun tonight.

@greebs had posted some discussion questions above

Next book should be figured out this evening and posted (or in the next little bit  )

Thanks for the discussion tonight everyone, really enjoyed Eileen. For those who weren’t there the next book we’ll be reading will be Trust Exercise by Susan Choi.

We’ll probably meet towards the end of next month?

Is there a master list of all the books from the refuge bookclub?

Don’t think it’s been updated since we discussed Eileen and chose our next one (Trust Exercise), but click the link for the Google sheet in the first post to see the others we’ve done before that.

Not sure who owns that spreadsheet, but I’d be happy to update it.

I also started Trust Exercise last night. Enjoying it so far! Reminds me of Normal People by Sally Rooney a bit…

Is Normal People worth the read? I feel like I see it everywhere

I loved it. It’s not always pleasant (there’s some sex stuff that’s pretty uncomfortable for some readers) but it felt very real to me, and it blew me away that it was written by a woman in her mid-20’s, I believe.
