Refuge Book Club: INTERMEZZO by Sally Rooney, date TBD

I believe that the October book will be chosen at the next meeting on Sep. 30 (anyone feel free to correct me if not)

Ah ok. Got a long flight the next day, was hoping to have the next book ready but that’s what ipads are for!

People are flying? I miss traveling.

Yup! The plan is to pick next class

We have already identified that the adventures of Kavelier and Klay will be one we do early next year (on account of its 700+ pages ) so that’s a recommendation (although a big one to lug on a plane!)

For some reason I was thinking book club was today…might be a good reason to start a new book though

Had the dreaded switch over from “pumped to start a new book” to “damn I’ve read this before” moment last night. Only consolation is finding a new read for the weekend.

I’ve done this way too many times. Now I check Goodreads to see before I dive in!

Me too, and read about half of it on Monday.

I would love to start 1 hour later so that I can attend wine class for which I am double booked.

(edit: but maybe I’ll just be a little late)

Mark’s wine class? Via Refuge? Isn’t that tomorrow? Knowing you, I should probably assume you have multi wine class bookings to juggle.

I’m good with that - although I know it’s easy for me to say in PST time

Fine with me, especially if that swing juice brings out some spicy takes.

CST is a nice middle road spot that can swing both ways. Got a nerdy first going on tonight with two book groups meeting the same night. First is plenty early so I’m good w whatever.

There is a Matthiasson series where everyone bought the same variety six-pack from one producer. That one is on Wednesdays.

(Edit. Yes Refuge)

Sweet that you are doing that one! Will watch for official time but I can certainly go a bit later.

Kindly requesting that we keep the original time. EST with an early flight tomorrow and don’t want to keep the wife up.

I’m really flexible. I’m wondering if splitting the difference might be the way to go?

Will toss a poll in and let that decide

Check all times that work

  • 6pm PST
  • 6:30ps PST
  • 7pm PST
