I was telling a few others, but finishing up during golden hour yesterday was an almost spiritual experience. So incredibly thankful for the opportunity!
Thanks for hooking everyone up @swade. Love to see the Electric Phactory flourishing
Looking for 2 more to round out a foursome with @dornoch26 and myself this Saturday at 12:48 at Makefield Highlands. Might not get a full 18 in, but should be a lovely afternoon weather-wise.
Looks like the website is up, and they have a section for the routing and overview of each hole.
We live too close not to go see this place someday
Unless something changed, I am pretty sure I read that it will be 100% private. But obviously that could not be the plan any more.
It is private. I mentioned in another thread that my Wife works for the company that partnered with Trout and TGR Design. There is a 9 hole course that will be next to the private course, and that will be public. Not sure of the layout, but I know they held a fundraising event on it late last year so it should be opening soon. #watchthisspace
I am new to the nest and am interested in signing up for an Electric Phactory event, where are prices for the events shown? Thanks
Prices of events are typically the cost of the round + $5. But lets get @MikeRevak to give you any additional info you would like.
Mike will get you sorted. The $5 extra for everyone has two purposes this year - half goes to Philabundance, and the other half is going to be given to the winner of each event via a comically large check. At least, that’s the plan!
@BJArmour & @dornoch26 are 100% right. We typically find ourselves in that greens fee + $5 arena, and that’s certainly the case with Running Deer. I have the registrations open up roughly a month before the events so that we can have some flexibility with add/drops and we can sometimes negotiate down the cost of a round if we’re able to guarantee a large group is going to come out to play and enjoy a few cold beers afterwards.
I saw you sent me an email as well, so check your DMs, I’ll send along more info in a few moments.
is this the official philly thread?
coming to town for a conference and need some coffee shop, lunch, happy hour, dinner, and bar recommendations. All of the things!
Wednesday we are doing a networking happy hour at Lucky Strike. Would love a cool spot for dinner close by that a large group can get in to. Walking distance is cool or if there’s a hip neighborhood a short taxi away that’s fine too.
Thursday we are doing a networking happy hour at iron hill. Same question applies for dinner after.
A cool/divy pub or bar nearby would also be fun.
Same goes for coffee or lunch nearby the Marriott for daytime!
You’re literally in the heart of center city. Might be hard to get a full group into dinner without a reservation anywhere nearby. How big of a group are we talking?
For drinks, go to McGillins. It’s a tourist spot, but an awesome old bar.
For coffee, you’re right next to LaColombe, and they have incredible coffee and pastries.
the first night there is going to be 15 probably?
second night only 7, my colleague said she found a mediteranean spot?
and for cheese steak we are just thinking reading terminal
If the Mediterranean spot is Barbuzzo, it’s good. Reading terminal is a good option, but if you’re up for a little walk, Angelo’s is worth it. Cash only though.
It is!
I’m a big fan of Double Knot in that area. The upstairs cocktail lounge would probably be best for a smaller group of people.
Thanks for this recc. I will be arriving a bit early on Wednesday and will go by myself for lunch.
Will add it to the list!
I’m fairly new to the Nest and just getting started exploring The Refuge. I’m Philly local. What is Electric Phactory (love the play on the music venue)? Thanks!
Dinner at Parc outdoor seating is usually
