Appreciate that. Maybe if you pursue membership and ever want a playing partner you’ll call me!

Forgot to say. They truly believe par is irrelevant. Solid par 66 course.

i played McCall in GAP last year and it’s a pretty interesting place. Really short course but pretty fun. Nice clubhouse setup and a small driving range right next to the practice green and first tee. lots of elevation but walkable. nice greens and will definitely make you a better player. sits right inside the neighborhood. one of the guys i was playing against walked to the course for the match which i’m insanely jealous of. my partner and i decided before we saw the course that we wouldnt hit driver and it worked out. fairways and greens, fairways and greens.

Mike is my sons golf coach! We will be at BCC this Sunday for his lesson actually. I have never played the place but it looks awesome. I like how it is pretty much out on its own.

When it warms up you’ll have to come play! I love how it’s free of houses. The front and back are so different from each other. It’s really a fun course - this will be my 5th season there!

Anyone know of a local organization I can donate some used irons to? Might be a few years old but are in good condition and hope some organization can put them to good use as opposed to sitting in my basemet.

I’m sure the First Tee of Philadelphia would be open to donations

Another option—if you live by a high school that might have some economically disadvantaged neighborhoods you could donate them to the Athletic Dept for a kid who wants to play but can’t afford clubs. You can find AD contact info on any district website.

Thrilled to see this is an Inside Golf production. One of my winter traditions is watching Ol’ Harry talk me through some of the courses I regularly play in the area which winter prevents me from getting out on. Can’t wait to watch!

It was kinda shocking hearing Harry say he’s never played Cobbs.

I had that same response.

Listening to this week’s recap pod, and was stunned to learn that the Saudis are trying to host an event within the next four months…and it’ll be at Philly Cricket Club?

Heard that as well. I kind of understand why trump courses would host, but why would a member owned club with no need for cash a robust wait list agree to host an event for an outlaw tour sponsored by the saudis? What positive for them would come from it?

The only thought I had was that they tried for Pine Valley who said no way. But still, there are plenty of courses on the east coast that aren’t affiliated with the PGA that would bring much more luster to the event.

I think Philly cricket would bring plenty of luster, I just don’t understand why Philly Cricket would gain from it right now

Haven’t listened yet, but this certainly fills out my bingo card for things I did not expect this week. And it’s only Monday. Hot damn.

This was the first pod where it felt way too real. DJ signing and then coming to Philly cricket as early as June.

Yeah I’m baffled by that as well. I wonder how united the membership is behind it? There has to be a section of the membership who don’t want the stink of MBS and the Saudi’s gross sportswashed money on them.

The Trump courses make total sense but I wouldn’t have expected this from Cricket.

Hey all! My wife just got in Penn for a PhD program starting this fall. I’m from the Kentucky/South Carolina and never played golf in the area. Was wondering what my golf options would be and where I should be looking to play while we’re Philly residents? I know some of the big named private clubs, but don’t have a clue what public golf’s like in the area.
