Fun layout and was always in great shape when we played it a few years back. The short game area is fantastic. My buddy never had any real complaints.
If you’re looking in the Oreland/Glenside area there is also Sandy Run Country Club. its right down the road from LuLu and Manufacturers. I have not played there before but from what I’ve seen it looks like a nice spot. I inquired a while back about them and LuLu and IIRC Sandy Run was a bit more expensive. But if anyone has played there before they might have more useful I formation.
I’m always happy to host at HVCC if anyone is interested in checking it out. Very unique Flynn track. Just sponsored a couple guys in their late 20s so it seems the membership is trending younger.
I’m not a local, but have family in Jersey and Bensalem. I think LuLu is phenomenal.
Also, I don’t know how far this is from CC, but I think the Bensalem Township course is pretty decent for a public option, and I really like liked the Union Club at Torresdale. It’s also a Donald Ross, and I think they have one of the best logos, too.
Yeah Union League at Torresdale would be perfect - don’t think I’d be able to get in there anytime soon though. Hopefully will be able to play it sometime.
Thanks for the Bensalem rec - not too far away at all and had not checked it out yet.

I’m not a fan of Bensalem.
Course is usually in rough shape, and they have some very poorly designed holes. A 200 yard par 3 uphill that has you go even further uphill to the tee box on the next hole. Any slightly wayward tee shot to the right goes right back into the people on the previous hole
In my defense, I only played in once a few years ago when I was in town for a wedding.
It was in pretty good shape, and I played well, which never hurts, lol.
I played Middletown (?) and thought Bensalem was much better.
I got an invite through work to play Hidden Creek. Two words: blown away. Anyone else had the pleasure?
Also, I didn’t know it was part of Dormie until I got there and saw the flags, and I immediately was over the moon. I shot an 82 as well, so it was an all around phenomenal day.
Anyone looking to play on 4/24? I’m a single playing off of 12, usually in MontCo but will travel.
Damn I have my shot scheduled for that day.
Probably can’t that weekend as the ole wifey and I are expecting our first any day now. But definitely down to do some rounds later this spring/summer.
I’m often looking for someone to play with, so let’s stay in touch. Shoot me a private message if you both ever want to get out.
I think your PM’s might be turned off?
They shouldn’t be. I’m not even sure how to turn them off/on. I exchanged PMs no more than a day ago.
Is there a setting I can check?
Nope - user error on my end
Just circling back here, what Philly area recs do you have for lessons? If anyone else has some then let them rip!
If you’re budget conscious, Sean at Walnut Lane is really good. The facility is lacking, but his instruction is solid. Good, fun guy to be around.
I’m currently working with Mike Paukovitz. He’s got a bunch of options for venue, and while he’s on the pricier side, I think he’s worth every penny. Very quiet and thoughtful, easy to work with, and always happy to answer my myriad questions and looking for feedback. He’s got me playing my best golf since I was a teenager, and I even went through a major swing change with him (fade to draw). I’d highly recommend him.
Jim Bromley at Ravens Claw is great, can’t say enough good things about him. Keeps it simple and makes the most out of your hour with him.
I have a 9:50a tee time tomorrow at Glenn Mills with an extra spot. I was supposed to get out with a friend of mine but his back hurt. Anyone want to play with me?
I played there on Friday. I can’t make it tomorrow, but enjoy!
