If your player is still lower level, it can be a challenge. I’d put VC towards attribute points early, you tend to get enough club fittings from quest rewards to not need to buy them, at least not often or if you’re not switching clubs a lot
not sure how Reddit links work, if you can read them without having an account, but more info today on the leveling of MyPlayers. It was nerfed yes, and still takes longer than it should yes, but they are stepping slowly in the right direction. As they say, we’ll continue to monitor the situation.
Respawn is discussing on stream now and will timestamp the YouTube replay later
Also I will be testing the society event payouts, gonna load in couple hundred VC to the next test event and see how it divides the payout, I assume it’s based on finish but unsure on the percentages or how it calculates.
Respawn just said there is like 3k+ VC for doing quests that is just not shown in the UI. How can the game be so bad but so good.
Yep, at least 1600 VC confirmed from community submitted data from various quests, estimated to be at least a few thousand unaccounted for, aka not shown as quest rewards.
If it’s intentional to still have VC pay out with quests or not remains to be seen.
Which means doing the xp grind courses a couple times IS actually worth it to hit some of those milestone quests
For the milestone quests specifically though they do limit to only being done on official courses. Career mode is where it’s at currently to progress those the quickest.
For this test event coming up at Ferncliff, I added 250 VC to the purse. I am unsure if the society will show me full payouts, so if you play and get a VC payout, feel free to let me know what you got, and what place you finished in overall.
Is the move to turn down the difficulty to rack up VC to build your character to the point the game is playable on our settings?
It’s a balancing act. You get the XP multiplier for playing on a harder difficulty, so play on as difficult as you can manage while still playing well. I think using Perfect Swing might be a good way to practice, as you get perfects, but it still shows your inputs on the swing feedback so you can see how close you are.
Edit: just confirmed tweaking my settings, use Perfect Swing to start for sure. If you tweak some of the other settings you can still get a decent XP multiplier. Then you can work on getting used to the new swing while still making good progress and not worrying about misses.
For anyone around tomorrow afternoon, I’m gonna try to stream on Twitch and play, and hopefully chat and be able to help new players out a bit.
I just started my second season on career, I’d recommend doing so and checking the career quests, suddenly I have a bunch that I wasn’t getting credit for before.
To progress things quickly, my recommendation would be 1 round normal events, at least 2 rounds for majors and the Gold Boy Standard - those need at least 2 rounds to complete related quests. Signature events can go either way, looking through the quests it doesn’t appear that any require more than 1 round for those.
It’s very strange, I can’t remember if 23 was like this, second time through the career and the game is acting like this is my player’s first time on tour, fresh out of q school. Perhaps each season is like starting from day 1, which feels a bit meh. Would be cool to have achievements for defending titles, etc. I can see trophy count and last win dates, but the interviews and progression is like those never happened, at least a couple events in.
Daaaaammmnnn, Divot Derby is my SHIT. What a fun game mode. There seems to be something going on with the servers at the moment, but I was having a blast.
Also 2v2 alt shot ranked is fun as hell.
Yeah the servers have been struggling since launch, long loading screens, etc. Hopefully will be resolved soon.
I’ll be going live here shortly to do some random course play testing and society rounds
I went looking for this mode, but couldn’t find it. Where do I set this as the matchmaking I’m looking for?
It’s in casual matchmaking
Fraudulent Tom Kim tried to challenge me and lost, international superstar my ass. Needs to go back to virtual golf!
I only wish that they had a Pro level for the casual matchmaking formats so I could use the diagonal swing. Divot derby is a lot of fun!
Funny you say that because I was literally coming back to complain about how the pro am difficulty of Divot Duel has fucked my pro swing up… And it wasn’t that good to begin with!
Are we going diagonal swing for refuge tour?! I hate it so much
